I fancy the ibanez for home practise rehersing jamming and the odd wine bar dep job where i would possibly go through the PA

We do stock it but we haven't actually have any come in yet from Ibanez, probably the same thing elsewhere

When it does touch down though I'm sure we'll get one on display to try out. Tricky to guess when NAMM stuff arrives some of it is announced as if it's coming out the next day but when you speak to manufactures they say they haven't even begun production!

I know we have an Ibanez order coming in on the 1st June so might be one with that if you're lucky. Mind you quite a hike from Staffs!

I use a Promethean 1x10 combo as my only bass amp. It is perfect for rehearsals and small gigs. For more volume I use a Barefaced compact 1x15 cab with the combo sat on top. Awesome sound. However, I have ordered a Barefaced Midget T 1x12 cab recently as I think this would compliment the compact cab better and I can control the level of the tweeter with the Midget. This will give me lots of options too.

I dont think these are available new anymore. You may have to keep an eye out for a used one. The new ones are 1x15 combos with less power.

I've got one, had it for a couple of years now and I really don't think you can get much more for your money.
The fact that I can have one thing that is small and flexible enough to use as a home practice amp, that can hold it's own at small gigs (with a drummer) with no PA support, or as a stage monitor when things get a bit louder and has a removable 500W you can whip out and fire through a couple of 8 Ohm cabs, surely it's a bassist's wet dream!
The 1x10 speaker obviously has it's limitations, but it's frickin' tiny!
The clones are readily available and cheaper, but from what I've heard about them, the build quality isn't quite up to that of the Ibanez and although it sounds just fine as a combo, some folks have reported the head on it's own to be a little bit lacking, plus they're fugly ;)

Like thebuckets says, thomann have them in stock still >> http://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_p5110_promethean_bstock.htm

+1 i have to say the clones do a good job and are a steal at the price theyre being sold at, have the same speakers in the cabs and 90% same in the amps, but having had both in my hands the promethean sounded better IMHO and was a nicer finished package
