Hartke Hydrive 410s - any good?

Hi,

I am toying with getting one of these and wondered what the general feeling is on here.

I really like the spec of these cabs although I have read lots of negative comments saying they lose their bottom end if cranked up and particularly with the LH1000 (which I have) and also that they do not get loud enough without breaking up.

Also - seen a lot of these up for sale recently so makes me wonder even more! I don't really have anywhere local I can try out so have turned to you guys once more.

Many thanks
Freddie

I had one for a bit, but it just didn`t do what I wanted - the bottom end was too tight and focused. It all depends on the sound wanted, and amp being paired with it. I used a Gallien Krueger MB500 with it, and for me, it just didn`t work. But to others, that may well have been tone-heaven.

Check out Thomanns site - they have audio clips of many of their cabs on there, using rock, metal, and slap as genres for comparison.

I had an LH1000 and a hydrive 410 and it was a bloody brilliant combo! :P hehe. as has been said, it depends what you want from your setup. The LH1000 + hydrive 410 combination does give a nice tight low end, but do not think that means it lacks low end, because it definitely doesn't.

Regarding the volume issue, I never had to turn my LH1000 past 9/10 o'clock and I got an earth-shakingly loud, clean sound from the cab. Unfortunately moving house meant there wasn't room for it anymore :(
