Combo Amps Advice

Both makes will give that kind of sound, though to be honest, so will most makes. Combo-wise, Trace Elliot are very good - have a very loud sound for their size, though they can be a bit on the heavy side.

It depends on your budget mainly, as to what recommendations people can provide. The main thing is, if you buy used off of here, you`ll get much more for your money than if bought new. Plus, you can research the make/model on here, and get a good idea of whether it will suit or not.

An Ashdown EB 180 is a fantastic amp for a beginner. Cheap, reliable, light and LOUD! It has a compressor built in too. You can play at bedroom levels with it and at rock gig levels (and I have...with loud drummers).

I own it's big brother now but I still take my EB out to smaller gigs and it sounds great!

And the great thing is you can buy one secondhand for £100 probably from this very forum.
