Ovation Viper....

The Burpster

So having liberated the Viper from Beedster, (Huge thanks again Chris!) and a quick strip and clean later....

I dropped the saddles 1mm each and restrung it with GHS nylon wound stings. Then flipped teh saddles thru 180 to get the intonation spot on and slackened off the T rod 1/8 turn to get the relief there as well.....

It didnt sound earth shattering unplugged ( I didnt expect it to) as nylon covered strings tend not to. However when I plugged it in to the Mesa, I was met by this wonderful haunting blues accoustic tone....

Its like a drug..... I cant stop doing it, it makes me grin like a tw4t when I'm playing it and even more when I reflect upon it afterwards.....

I've finally found a bass I literally cant get enough of...... I want another one.....!

Anyone else own one of these puppies....?

I used to post on the Ovation fanclub ( long time Custom Legend owner) but all that praise/worship talk started doing my nut in.well that and teh fact that none of the FS stuff was ever over here. still a good resource though.
I'm still wanting a full bodied B768 Elite style USA bass, one day I'll get one.
