Damien Dooris
Hey all, I have an Epifunky 410 and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good head that would compliment this cab? I normally play more post-rock, heavy rock style of music. I was angling towards markbass? Or maybe compliment it with an Epifani PS 400? Thanks!! chrismuzz
Markbass/Epifani seems to be a popular combination. Though I've not actually used Epifani cabs myself I can definately recommend Markbass heads! They are super clean, and you can really cut through and be heard without dominating the mix. If you want a bit of dirt you will need to use a pedal or something but it looks like you've got that base covered already
Damien Dooris
Thanks for the quick reply! Much appreciated thats exactly what I was thinking! Yeh the b9.1 gives me as much as I need for the moment! Nothing worse than tap dancing while trying to play
leroydiamond
+1 on markbass. I have been using a little mark 11 for several years and they are a fab amp. Super reliable too
jackers
I have recently acquired an epifani 212, and my Ashdown MiBass 550 sounds fantastic through it. I would recommend trying it out if you have a chance.
Lozz196
I see from your sig that you have the Marshall MB450. If you`re wanting a new amp as the Marshall is too thick and "full-on" and want to be a bit more precise in the sound, I`d recommend trying out Gallien Krueger. I`ve always loved Ampeg amps, but my PF500 was a bit too "thick" in the sound for one of my bands, so bought a GK MB500, and couldn`t be more impressed. Much more precise, modern, crisp yet bassy & grindy sound - think Duff McKagan/Mike Dirnt. Of course, whether this teams up well with Epifani is another matter.
