sockdeluxe_mikey
Hello! I'm ordering a new bass body that doesn't have any pre drilled holes for a bridge (I'm just attaching a standard five hole bridge). Is this difficult to do by myself? Is there anything to bear in mind? Thanks guys Mike
thack
Shouldnt be too hard. Just take your time positioning it perfectly for the scale length and alignment.
tommorichards
use a bit of twine to make sure the strings are ligned up properly, as well as putting the bridge far back enough to be able to intonate it without any problems
mentalextra
Check, check and check again! I have recently fitted a new bridge where none of the holes from the original bridge could be used. Even after endless checking and measuring it is still a little out. I am face with having to fill the holes and redrill just to move it down 3/16ths of an inch! Believe me, if its not right you will see it every time you look at the guitar!
Low End Bee
Masking tape, string, a tape measure and a pencil are your friends. I've done two perfectly and I'm no DIY genius..
