Lozz196 Posted January 23, 2012 Share Posted January 23, 2012 The SVT is a great amp, but, virtually the same sound can be obtained with your PF500 by using a DHA (Dave Hall Amps) VT1 pedal. It warms up the sound to that classic "just breaking up" sound that valve Ampegs such as the SVT have. I had this set-up for a while, and it was very authentic, but without the backache. In this setup were a Barefaced Compact & Midget, and have to say, they are very good at putting out what you put in - so if Ampeg sound goes in, it comes out uncoloured.
