audio interface advice

Hi, need a decent multi I/O audio interface. Boiled it down through reviews etc to the following two:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/maudio_fast_track_ultra.htm

anyone actually own and use either of these? Particular value for me is in live use with multiple outs for mix etc. This suggests rackmount but the MAudio does look good too.

I'd recommend the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40.

That's what I use.

thanks. I dont have firewire but could sort that. Classic GAS moment as I am now looking at a new laptop and a £400 audio interface. I started off looking at spending £150.

Personally, I'd avoid M-Audio. Pres just don't have any real quality (unless, of course, you want to use Pro Tools M-Powered). Take a look at this http://www.lexiconpro.com/product.php?id=170 and this http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/4pre Lexicon is more a home use design, but Motu has been designed for multi-purpose environments.

Can i give the Roland Octacapture a mention.
It's about a ton above your budjet though.
It is incredibly stable, and works at really really low latency with no problems,
also zero latency hardwear monitoring.

Liking the look of the Saffire Pro40 but having to sort Firewire is an issue budget wise.
