Ok, I’m having to ‘move on’ two of my Lakland’s to finance a new 55-94 on the way over from the USA so I am not looking for any trades please. Both basses have been well looked after and are set up with a low action ready to play.

WILL ALSO CONSIDER TRADING FOR A 5 STRING SANDBERG

They are:

[s]55-02 (Three Tone Sunburst)[/s] SOLD
[s]Lakland Skyline 55-02 Deluxe, ‘Three tone sunburst’, quilted Maple body with Maple neck and rosewood finger board. All standard and in great condition, there are some very light surface scratches that won’t even show up in the pictures and what you would expect from a 2006 bass[/s].

[s]Looking for £800[/s]

[s]55-01 (Black)[/s]
[s]Lakland Skyline 55-01, Black with Maple neck and Maple finger board. This bass is also in very good condition, it has some slight belt buckle scratches but they can't be photographed as they're so small and some small scratches on the top horn but again aren't noticeable. This 2005 bass has been upgraded with Nordstrand 'Fat Stacks' which are amazing in humbucking or single coil and a US bartolini preamp which is much better/flexible than the stock Asian one. Cosmetically the bass has a Tortoise pickguard and USA black hipshot ultralite tuners, Black String Tree, black Schaller strap locks and some black metal knobs, ala Aguilar/Sadowsky/Fodera[/s].

[s]Looking for £750 ono[/s]

[s]Full spec for both basses can be found at http://www.lakland.com/basses.htm[/s]

[s]Please let me know if you want any more info.[/s]

Does the 55-01 come with a case?

Also, without meaning to sound rude, am I missing something? The retail price for a new 55-01 at the moment, after a quick search, appears to be cheaper than this second-hand one you have listed here... I'm not well-informed on Laklands, and was just wondering if there was something I wasn't aware of.

Both pickups and pre-amp have been upgraded, and there are other upgrades too. If Johnebass was closer to London I'd be checking out the 55-01 myself.

Ah, makes sense. I missed the part about the upgraded pups, only noticed the preamp, which didn't seem to make up for it on a second-hand guitar to me... however, considering the pups too, that looks like a great deal... now if only somebody would buy my Stingray.

Can you tell us any more about the Bartolini pre ? Specifically, I'm interested in the center frequency of the mid control, particularly if there's no switch to pick different options, but anything you know about model number will be a help (I've not had anything with a Bart pre before)

Thanks, Andy
