Lokster
Alreet. Been lurking around here now for a couple of months and thought it was about time I got myself involved in some natter! Very (pleasantly) surprised to see so many fellow Nottinghamians around the place too. I'm a complete beginner in my mid twenties who just decided one day that I really wanted to learn a instrument and that I loved the low, deep tones of the bass. So picked up a cheap Westfield bass and amp off ebay a few months ago and have been trying to self teach myself with youtube videos and a couple of books (as well as the many fantastic threads on this forum!) After lots of looking around on here I'd like to get myself some lessons so was wondering if any of the people from Nottingham (or surrounding areas) knew of any good teachers in the south of the shire? Beeston, Chilwell, Long Eaton that kind of general area. That's where I'm based and I don't have my own transport (for now) which has ruled out a couple of fantastic looking teachers in other parts of Nottingham that are a pain in the arse to get to on bus's. Ta for making it through the wall of text and groove on!

There used to be a teacher in Long Eaton that used to teach above Phil Boot guitar shop but he closed down The guitarist in my band teaches guitar and bass for a living. There is another bass teacher in the same building. He is based in Ilkeston, I dunno if that's any good to you? if you are interested send me a PM and i'll pass on some details for you. Some teaches will come to you....maybe that's an option? good luck...Tony.

pantherairsoft
Welcome! Plenty of us from Nottingham. I work in Bulwell (urgh) and live near the City Hospital. Lots of good teachers too - nottswarwick who has already said hi is one of them. Enjoy BassChat. Shep
