Lozz196
Just been to see The Darkness at Shepherds Bush Empire. Totally awesome. Just as you`d expect, except........... Frankie The Pirate is putting his Gibson Thunderbirds through Aguilar gear. Am sure it was an 810 that he had - could only see the top of it tho, so could have been 410 & 410, or 410 & 115. And the amp head was a small lightweight head. And the cab was miked - maybe DI-d as well, couldn`t see that bit either. Was a bit surprised by this, not that Aguilar gear isn`t good, it is, just that most rock bands seem to have Ashdown stacks nowadays, instead of the Ampeg stacks that preceeded them. Great sound as well, that typical Tbird sound, causing a rumble in your chest cavity.
Musicman20
I've definitely noticed Aguilar taking over as a 'rock' brand in the USA...they seem to take a lot of ex Ampeg artists. Aguilar gear is exceptionally well made, and looks great. Definitely great for all styles!
Bankai
He always used to be an Ampeg guy. Glad to see he's still using Thunderbirds though! I had to go somewhere yesterday, otherwise I would definitely have come
3V17C
they've been rehearsing/writing recently in the same studio we use here in sunny Lowestoft... he was using a Marshall VBA and matching 8x10 then.
