Funny you should say that, Howard - remember those old catalogues you kindly gave me:

This is in a 71/72-ish Jedson catalogue - not sure why the "Status" logo bass is in here but it was plainly sold as part of the Jedson range, imported by Dallas-Arbiter Ltd. The other decent-quality Jedsons from this era were Matsumoku-made, so I'd be inclined to think this would be too - so a cut above the Columbus & Avon equivalents.
