Will It Fit?

So I'm Looking at modifying my Schecter Diamond 004 so it has a little more bling bling, here is a link to the same model;

What I am aiming to do is to change the pickup covers, I would like them to be chrome almost Ricky style yet I have no idea what I can replace them with.

I found these on fleabay but I havent a clue as to wether they will fit and all that jazz.

Unless anyone on here has actually done this customisation themselves, your best bet would be to email the store ([email protected]) and ask them to measure the internal width, height and depth of the pickup cover and compare that to the EMGs fitted to your bass...

EDIT: You do realise that you're going to have to make screwholes in the front face of the bass to fit these?

First impression is... not a chance.

Rickenbacker toasters are quite small pickups, and the soapbar humbuckers on the Schecter look waaaaay bigger. Even if the covers would physically fit over the soapbars you've still got the problem of the twin toaster slots.

A better bet might be to have the soapbars chromed, and see if they can leave the toaster slots naked. I'm not sure how that would pan out though.

Also EMG's are normally epoxed into the casings, so you won't be able to seperate them to replace them.

Hmmm thats a bit of a bummer.

I guess my only alternative option is to replace the pickups themselves then, any help guys?

They're going to sound very different to the ones currently installed and you would more than likely have to fill some of the existing pickup routs to fit them without leaving any tell-tale gaps.

Surely you'd only be able to toast very small slices of bread & the strings would get in the way when they pop up?

I'd be more inclined to leave them alone and try and track down covers to fit over the top of the existing casings if at all possible.
