1. Yeah, the bass barn have been clearing their stock on ebay. I've got it for a ridiculous price!
 2. Just to resurrect this again, just bought a Taurus SLT1010. Looking forward to its arrival!
 3. So I recently came into posession of a Stream 204 after a two month wait from Dawsons.... and it's pretty ace! 0% finance is a devlish thing haha. It sits quite well but with a little neck dive and it's bloody heavy, but with the strap I'm currently using it's no surprise. I havent had chance to use it through a rig yet so I can't comment on that just yet, but I have high hopes! One thing bugs me though.... a black pickguard on a black body, BORING! The thing would look so much better with a white perloid than a black, but it is impossible to come across any with it being a new model. Is there any chance someone could be hired to cut one for me? And also for what price?
 4. I've been wanting one of these for a while, no chance unless I get rid of my rig first!
 5. The bass itself shows signs of actually being a bass before I bought it. It's most certainly had a bridge in a previous life and it can with tuners and string tree attached. Although the fingerboard that came with it is new and only marked out to be fretted (no idea if it is marked correctly). I had intended on setting £300 aside for it as a good starting point, but recent expenses have set that back. I'm based in Burnley Lancashire, Stoke is a bit of a journey but do-able!
 6.
I reckon it's not going to hurt to take it to a Luthier and have them take a look, looks like the fundamentals are there, nut seems to be in a bit of an odd place though, either way nothing to lose and everything to gain
That black rod isn't a nut it's a string tree. i'm still trying to find luthiers (and time) in my area so I can get an opinion on it. My ultimate goal is to have something similar to a Peavey Cirrus, played one recently and it was lush!
 7. Now I do feel like a fool, in my honest opinion I do not know where to go in light of this. In my head I would love to make this playable but if it is flawed then there isn't much point. I guess my best option is to take it to a luthier and them to see it in person.
 8. So I bought this for £80 off facebook recently with the intention of having it done up all nice and pretty-like. I'm led to believe it's a mix of maple/walnut/mahogany. Then sense kicked in and I realised this could get pricey! (This is where I need the advice) I intend to personalise this lovely piece by way of inlays and I'm already looking at places for some custom cuts (any reccommendations would be appreciated!). There is work that I WILL need to outsource on this though as I will cock it up if I tried, but I have no idea on price. To-do: Buy truss rod. Have truss rod attached. Have fretboard attached. Have inlays insterted. Have fretboard fretted. Have hardtail bridge attached. The rest, I can most likely deal with myself. What do you guys think? Muchos gracias
 9.
Personally I don't see the problem - I like a good go over with a stiff brush at moulting time.
He was a ginger....so more of a rusty wire brush really!
 10. For sale only. This is my Hagstrom VIking bass that I've had for a little over a year and to tell you the truth.... I hate it. I bought it new for a project to suit the bands "image" but not long after that, the singer was charged with grooming (less said the better.) So it's safe to say that project died a death and this behemoth has been sat in it's box ever since. I'm looking for a straight sale and no trades please as I'm doing the best I can to save for a mortgage (although the new build isn't helping matters!) I'm looking for £370 (excl P&P). Based in Burnley Lancashire but also work in Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire so delivery in those kinds of vicinities by myself is plausible. Maybe a little further if you put me in a good mood. This is a sexy-ass bass to look at, but to play...not for me. Immaculate condition, waiting to be loved by someone.
 11. Hey guys been a while since I have been around on here due to moving house and all that malarky. Recently decided that my love for the jazz bass has worn thin and I have major GAS for a Hagstrom Viking. So I'd rekon it's time I let her go to someone who will love her like I once did. As in the title I have modified it a bit more:

Black machine heads
Black control plate
Traditional jazz knobs
Black bridge
Black neck pickup ashtray
Black strap pins
"Squier" rubbed off headstock ( was going to get a "Choir" decal for a witty pun but never happened)
I also had a friend re-jig the electrics so that now the tone pot is redundant.
I think I'm ready to part with my beloved, times are hard and so even a Hagstrom might be out of the question now looking for [s]£210[/s] (incl tatty gigbag) the price includes postage. Or you can collect it from me from either the Burnley or Hebden Bridge area cash in hand @ [s]£200[/s] (incl gigbag) LAST PUSH BEFORE EBAY, YOURS FOR £180 INCL GIGBAG P&P NOT INCLUDED.
