Re-Introduction......

Hey Folks!

I used to spend hours every day on here, not posting particularly frequently, but very much enjoying the banter, info and stoking the GAS fire etc. I'm working more these days and so have far less free time (which has got to be good, right?) but intend to try and get more involved in the near future.....

I used to play in this band, but sacked them back in August for a variety of reasons, not least being that we'd basically stopped writing and gigging about three years ago, and done very little of any worth since.....

I've just started making Basses; two down and who knows how many to go. I threatened a build thread a while back, and will get onto that shortly.....

I was a bit of a compulsive buyer of Basses until recently (as you'll see in my sig) but since finishing making my own I think it's demystified it all for me a bit now, I think I'm now mostly cured of my addiction!....

I teach music workshops in schools most of the time, using other instruments wot I made.....

I'm doing quite a bit of (Bass) playing at the mo, some function stuff, occasional recording sessions, and pretty regular Jam Nights around and about to keep limber.....

I also play Drums and after a fifteen year hiatus I've recently dusted off my old Cornet and joined a marching band!

good to be back! - Dan

Cheers Guys!

good to be back.....

Dread, I finally got around to posting my build diary after nearly twelve months procrastination!:

here

and the "chav" Bass is so called cos of the blue lights, there's not much else Chavvy about it thankfully. Actually now I come to think about it, it's got a strange mix of shiny Gold machineheads, matt Gold bridge, black plastic knobs and the SIMs switch is chrome..... that should probably get dealt with at some stage..... along with the dry joint in the control cavity more to the point!

it was bought from a guy who posts on here actually, but years and years ago before I even knew about basschat/bassworld, on ebay. Can't remember his name or owt but he moved from the UK to the States about five years ago hence the sale.
