1.
For the price of the pedal (cheaper than one Aguilar pedal on its own) its worth a shot new from Amazon or somewhere, then send it back if you don't like it. I now have the G3 as well. Both great.
Difficult because I'm from Portugal but I'm considering buying one in second hand... it isn't a bad option, yeah, but I will try to get more feedback before buying
2.
Well there is an Aguilar amp-modelling sim on the B3, so you may get an equivalent sound from that.
It has the simulation of Aguilar DB750. Owners of this pedal, what do you say about this amp-model? Or matching this 3 pedals (TH, AW3 and B3) would give great results? Yes, I know that there's nothing like the experience but unfortunately I don't have the possibility to hear this combination... Unless I try to buy one in second hand and see..
3. I don't know if this is the right place but here it goes... After reading so good things about Zoom B3, I'm really thinking on getting one! I have one Aguilar ToneHammer and one Boss AW3 that I like very much, but I'm searching for a delay (and if it has a looper, better) so I consider Boss DD-7 or TC Eletronic Flashback Delay, but Zoom B3 has the drum machine, tuner, other effects that can be used (maybe)... What do you say? It would be ridiculous using a Aguilar TH, Boss AW3 and Zoom B3 together I think... especially TH and B3, no?

5. When I'm gigging we use PA support. But rehearsals it isn't possible use PA. I'm gonna think on buyng a second cab the less expensive (or use a friend's 1x15 and see the result). Until that I will use my 210 only and see if something gets better. The acoustic isn't the best but let's see, I just had 3 rehearls with them. If I have money, I would buy a barefaced cab, I've saw their website and I'm now saving some money. Thank you.
6. It's not easy to travel with it all the time, and I don't drive so, I have to go with one guitarist but the car isn't huge. Big problem, I know...
7. I have put my 210 on a table, close to my ears, and it sounds good but if I 2/3 meters away, I don't ear me, and the rest of the band don't ear me (mainly the drummer). Well, building cabs its not for me, I don't understand that...
8. I need and like my 410, but I can't travel all the time. Selling my 410 and get another 210 isn't the solution, because I need the two cabs all the time and that's not good for me. Unfortunately a barafaced cab it's to expensive... Well, I will put my 210 next to a wall and stack vertically, and see if it works.
9. Well, I understand. The solutions are: buy another cab; get a 410; upgrade head and cab. I just don't want to get another 410 because it's too much, two 410 is difficult to carry. Buy another cab is a little expensive, but there's the same problem: difficult to carry, 3 cabs are very cabs for me. Upgrade head and cab... it's not easy, it would be more expensive... And it would never sound louder than my 410 right... Buy an Ashdown MAG 600 is a little expensive, but who knows if I get a bargain, but it isn't very effective, I think...
10. I don't want to buy another cab, and I don't have very much to spend, and 3 cabinets are very much for me. And I don't want to trade my 210 for a 410. My 410 sounds very good in rehersals, but my 210 alone isn't enough... Is there another solution?
11. Hi, I have thought about this question all the time, and I don't know what's more important. I have an Ashdown MAG 300H and I use 2 cabinets: MAG 410 and MAG 210. I like the sound, and the head with my 410 sounds good for rehersals, but I leave that cab with my drummer, in his house. I have got now another band, and my MAG 210 don't make the job right, I have to use more than 7/10 and I don't feel pleased. I use the EQ flat, with a little more of mids. With this, I was thinking on buyng a new head, with 500/600w (matbe Ashdown MAG600?), but I have read that the double of the power isn't the double of the volume, and the difference isn't very much. But if I want more power, I thought that I have to upgrade my cabinets, but I don't have more money to spend... And now I'm thinking if I get a better 210, it is the solution for my problem, that sounds better and loud. Edit: When I have gigs I normally use the two cabs. I don't want to buy another cab, and I don't have very much to spend, and 3 cabinets are very much for me. But the main question is: What's more important, head or cabinet? I'm sorry about my english. I'm portuguese.
12. It's time to change my strings too. I though DR Sunbeams, and in second choice Lo-riders. What do you say?
13. I have been watching MTD's and i saw this basses with a great price (I think): http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp..._Heir4_BLK.html http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...D_KZ_4_Nat.html What do you say about this basses? Compared to the Yamaha TRB and the G&L...? I have never played a MTD...
14.
If that was a USA G&L L2000 for 300 Euros, that's an incredible price. Are you sure it wasn't a "tribute" series made in the east? That's still a good price though, assuming that it all works ok. If I were you, I'd look at MIJ P basses (if you're going for a 4 string), Musicman Subs, Warwick Corvette STDs can be got for roughly your budget as well as G&L Tribute L2000s/2500s.
It says that was a Made in USA (it was in the headstock) and the seller told me, but it was in a bad condition, the preamp was very tricky and the person who did the fretless have did it very bad. It is what I say: that bass was in bad condition! 300 euros for that bass, and I will lose very money extra for recovery of that bass, and without knowing the result. But i'm going to try one G&L in good condition one day... Here in Portugal there aren't MIJ second hand, I have researched and nothing. (*) Musicmans I have tryed and I prefer a lot Yamaha TRBs, unless a Stingray... but there's no money, and for the money of the stingray I would go to another option. Warwick... I'm not fan... I don't like it. (*) I have saw one that was selled. 650 euros
15.
Great choice! and also they come in some great colours too Here is a link to pictures of my TRB 5II I hope you like it http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=140726
But I will try the G&L only to see what's made of! But certainly I will go to the Yamaha! Yes, they come in some great colours, and you have the best one! Very nice! And it was a great bargain. I wish I could get one
16.
Basically the TRB 5II was the model made before the TRB1005, the TRB 5II are considered slightly better due to their pickups having a slight more depth to them. Also the TRB 5II (along with the 4II and 6II) were made in Japan where the TRB1005 (and 1004, 1006) are made in China I believe. To be honestly apart from a slight cosmetic change they are both excellent basses, both active both build like tanks and you should be able to get them both second hand for around the same price. A TRB 5II in very good condition should cost around 400 to 450 Euros where a TRB1005 might cost you up to around 500 Euros. I would go for the 5 string versions because they are much easier to find than the 4 string versions and plus you will get used to having that B string there and you will start to use it, didnt take me long to get used to it anyway lol EDIT: My bad the TRB1004/5/6 are made in China not Korea
Thank you In Portugal they are a little more expensive. I wish a TRB 5II should cost around 400/450 euros. I saw two TRB 5II, one at ebay.de and the other at ebay.it and they are 599 euros and 550 euros respectively. And it is a TRB 4 here in Portugal costing 650 euros with case... But maybe the 5string version is a better choice. I just need to gain some money and wait for a good bargain. I will give preference to the TRB 5II.
17. I don't like very much Jazz Basses, compared to the Precisions or Yamaha. They are pretty, but I don't like to much play on them... For now, I'm thinking in the Yamaha TRB seriously. I tried a G&L L2000 Made in USA, but it was very bad, fretless was not good (in my opinion), preamp tricky with problems... it wasn't a good experience.. that G&L was costing 300 eur, so the price explains everything. I'm going to try one G&L, but is difficult... I'm curious about the sound, features and the passive/active way. Isn't there other options, or are this the best options at this price? What's the difference of Yamaha TRB1005 or TRB 5II? Well, another thing: I use 4 strings, and I dont need 5 strings for now, but in the future, who knows... When I tryed the Yamaha TRB1005, the 5 string was perfect, but I don't use it very much, but it doesn't bother me very much... Maybe it would be better the 5 string version? Sorry about my english.
18. I have a Squier P-bass (weak, yeap) and I use D'addario EXL170 strings. It's time to change my strings. I though DR Sunbeams, and in second choice Lo-riders. What do you say?
19. Hi It's another topic asking help for a new bass. I have a Squier P-bass and an Ashdown amplification. I like P-basses, but I loved the Yamaha TRB1005 when I play it. I have 500/600 euros, and I'm from Portugal, so it's impossible get a used bass from UK (better prices, better choices, better basses, in UK). I would like a passive/active bass with different options and sounds, so I think that G&L, but I have never tried. It's 500eur new... But an active or passive bass, only, it's ok! I tried Yamaha TRB1005 in a store and it was very very good, the best bass that I have played in my life. With 600eur I can get one used. I though Squier VM Precision Bass Amber because I love P-basses, but I think that an Yamaha or G&L it is a better choice... The same to Fender, but who knows... I don't know what to buy... It's a difficult choice... Who wants to help?
20. So good that bass! If I live in UK ... but I don't ...
21. Hi. I've talked with a friends of a portuguese chat, and here is me question: Well, I have a 300w amp 4ohm, and a 2x10 200w 8ohm. I think that it is perfect. But if I buy an ABM 410 (650w), and I put the 2x10 + 4x10 (850w) and my 300w amp, is there any problem? Like.. the amp or speakers farting/frying? I think that it depends about the quality, sensitivity and other factors...
22.
I used to have an ABM410 and it was a perfectly good cab. I only got rid of it as it was a bit bulky and heavy but would happily recommend one if you really want a 4x10. Personally I'm inclined to agree with the multiple 2x10 option as it's more flexible and stacked they give better dispersion.
Thanks. Maybe I'll go to the 410.
23.
An ABM410 should be fine. It's unlikely you'll ever need louder. If possible, you should try and match the cabs, so one ABM210 and one MAG210 wouldn't be as good as two ABM210s or two MAG210s. There's nothing wrong with using a 410 and a 210, you shouldn't blow anything up, you just need to remember that the speakers in the 210 will be taking more power if you use them all at once. If you use two cabs, you will probably only need one for rehearsals (unless you practice very loud), so you will probably only need to take 1.
I understand... maybe I should go to the ABM 410, but I'll try to test them (something almost impossible, where I live)
24.
Horn is often used to describe tweeters too, the larger speakers are usually woofers. I've just had a look on Google and they seem to be around the same price. It's possible one's a newer model or something, I don't really know Ashdown gear. I was thinking of the MAGs though with the cheaper stuff, so apologies for that. xgsjx was talking about horizontal dispersion. Someone like Bill is far better to comment on this, but basically if you have two speakers next to each other, the sound waves will cancel each other out to an extent (at least I think that's the cause) and you'll have a narrower signal horizontally. A (square) 4x10 will be louder than a single 2x10 but if the audience is spread out around your amp and you don't have PA support, it'll be more directional. Stacking two 2x10s vertically will also be taller than a 4x10 and 2x10 horizontally, meaning that it'll be closer to your ears and you'll get better definition from it. I use 4x10s and I can't honestly say it's ever been a problem though, so I wouldn't worry about it. The other thing to be mindful of is if you're using two cabs with different wattage ratings (which if you have two cabs from the same model but with different speaker numbers, you probably will be), the power from your head will be split equally between them. If you have a 1000w (number picked for ease ) head, both of your cabs will be taking 5000w each. Again, it'll probably never cause a problem, but if you're pushing your amp bear in mind that one of your cabs will be splitting the power between two speakers (meaning up to 250w each with a 1k head) while the other splits it between four (125w), essentially meaning that your 2x10 will be always be worked a lot harder.
I understand. And I know that 2 210 are taller and that it'll be closer to my ears, but we use always PA and with a 410 I'll get plenty volume, so that isn't a problem. And if we don't use, I think that the 410 and 210 do the work very good, like the 2 210. Best option is ...? ABM 410 + MAG 210 or ABM 210 + MAG 210? I'm a little confused now, and the ABM 210 is cheaper, so that's good... But the ABM 410 will do the trick no? Beside, I want to put one cab at the rehearsel room and other home, and I need more volume than my MAG 210 alone, with my band. Well, if I get a new cab, the 210 will be used only home/little things, and the 410 for things with my band, and when I want more power, I put the two working, and I'll not need to work harder. If I get the 2 210, maybe the ABM 210 doesn't do the work like the 410? And then, I'll need to leave the 2 210 in the rehearsel room, because I don't want to transport every rehearsels 2 cabs... Sorry about my bad english, if you don't understand
