Not a tribute band but there is a feminist, queer, art rock, party band called Vag Halen!
-
Had mine on Monday. First time I've played bass in two years. As a band we sounded great.
But I was playing so minimally. Rusty is not the word. I have some serious practice to do.

I saw Fred Zeppelin play in Scarborough!

It's taken me a while to work out who Eagles are. I live near Wigan so have always thought the were called Th'eagles!

Taken -- We are Master Bates & the wankers
The thing I deleted due to the filter was this.
A band I was in occasionally did gigs under the name of 'Colin and the W@nkers'
We'd start gigs by playing a chord then the singer would say" good evening, we are Colin and the w@nkers! Unfortunately Colin couldn't make it this evening..."
Then straight into the first tune

Far be it from me, an upstanding Basschat citizen, from disseminating directly dissenting information- but there's nothing I can do to stop you zooming in on any particular text to spot the anomalies...
That said, I think most of us have now developed swear filter as a second language, and automatically translate as we read.
For example, now you've been censored I can confidently offer you comedy stage name exhibit A: Obi wombler Nobi.
Works, doesn't it?!
See what you mean about zooming in

It could also be my jazz fusion name

But half the fun is finding all the workarounds, Mr. Sausage!
(It really is a piece of f**cking pìss once you've worked out all the ways to be a cheeky little wanker about it!)
wombler was the word it changed!
See it's done it again.

oh no... LS has done a dirty delete 🤣😏
😄 The bad language filter changed the post and it kind of ruined it. It needed the word for it to make sense.

That's one the reasons I'd considered it. I have anxiety disorders including social anxiety, so having a 'character' helps with that a bit.
Lord Sausage was more an alter ego than a stage name. It's like my ego was to big for one man 😄.
He's retired now. It's sounds stupid but when I was that character it wasn't me, I just turned it on. He was like a perverted, punk, Captain Hook!

For me it’s probably:
- Velvet Underground
- The Doors
- Captain Beefheart
- Frank Zappa.
Heard just enough of each to know I’ve heard enough of each!
I used to think that about The Doors but have really gotten into em recently.

IIRC Cradle of filth had one member called Nicholas Bastard and a drummer called nasty pasty.
If I had a name like that I would definitely get a stage name.
Haha nasty pasty. I've only just started coming back on BC. It didn't do that in the past.
Obviously the worst swear word was there.

Pink Floyd, I've not heard a lot but I've heard enough to know it does/will bore me to tears.

As an aside, I think this is a rare time in history in that LZ's stock feels a bit on the low side at the moment. But it's a sleeping giant, and it'll be back...
Well I've got my 12 yr old son into them so I'm doing my bit!

You'll have to post a link to it if you have a recording as I'd love to hear that, your Lordship.
I wish I did! I might get the guitar player to work up a recording of it.

Great drummer, saw that tour. They don't have much luck with drummers. Tap-esque!
