1. EBS UniChorus, one of the first models I believe. Works perfectly but has a few scratches. Mono In - Stereo Out. I can arrange postage or collection from London N9. £60 Thanks! 2. Just an update on this in case anyone else has the same problem: I emailed Gallien Krueger who presumed that the problem is in the power-amp section. They suggested that I sent the unit for inspection to Polar audio who are the UK distributors. However Polar audio charge £30 inspection fee + £10 return postage (also £25 for every 15min of work). So I decided to give the unit to Guitar Aid in Putney (London). They confirmed that there is a problem with the power-amp section but they couldn't fix it and the cost to replace the section is about the same as getting a new amp. I emailed Gallien Krueger again to give them an update and ask them if there is anything they can advice but they didn't reply.
3. Just a quick update for anyone that might have the same problem in the future. It seems that the bridge has to be adjusted in way that it sits perfectly on the lateral pickup. The lateral pickup is just a little plate. So, by moving the bridge up or down it is not very difficult to locate the optimal position that produces clear sound with no distortion or cut outs. Hope this helps.
4. Hi All, I have this problem when playing my CRM5 in arco mode (bridge pickup). The sound I get is distorted, it cuts out but it can also be clear for a few seconds. I have changed the batteries and checked for any loose connections but everything seems ok, so I'm suspecting that it might be a faulty component? Any advice/suggestions? Many thanks, Antonis

6. I bought it not long ago from a fellow basschatter, but I'm pretty sure that it's old enough to be out of warranty. I have emailed GK, but I'm not expecting much. Thanks for the reply anyway
7. Hi All, I have a Gallien Krueger MB500 bass head. On Sunday I connected my MB500 to a bass cab at a rehearsing studio. It started making a distorted sound (I had not connected my bass to it at that time) so I quickly switched it off. When I tried to switch it back on I couldn't get any sound from it. (The cab is fine as I used it with a different head later). This is what is happening when I try to switch it on now: -The power switch LED has no colour. I know blue is for ok and red when there is a problem, but I don't know what no colour means. -The mute and boost buttons do turn red when I press them. -There is lots of intermittent (1 short 1 long) hiss from the headphone output, but no bass signal when I connect my bass. The mute and boost buttons flash with the same rhythm. -I did tried replacing the fuse but nothing changed Any ideas on this? I'm confident with soldering and checking components but I have no idea where to start from. Many thanks, Antonis
8. I bought a GK MB500 head from Alain. Good comms, good packaging, smooth transaction. The head sounds great too. Many thanks!
9. Hi All, I'm looking to trade one or more of my rack bags or case for a 6U rack bag or case (shallow preferably). Or I can sell for £25 What I have is: -Gator Studio 2 Go (2U + space for laptop etc.) -LD Systems 4U RackBag -Stagg 4U Case (I've cut holes on the sides for better air flow) There is a bit of wear and tear as you can hopefully see on the photos below. Let me know if you need more info etc. Collection from North London (N9) or I can meet half-way etc
10. I have this RokSak Acoustic Guitar case if anyone wants it. It's the deluxe model I believe. It has been used a lot for about a year and so it has some "stitches" at the top and the pocket zip is not working (could be an easy fix). Anyway, I thought it would be a shame to just throw it away before asking as it's still usable. I just need it to be fully waterproof and be able to use the pocket which is not the case... Collection from Edmonton N9...
11. I'm selling my Rocktron Blue Thunder Bass Multi-Effect/Preamp. I've gigged it in the past but not a lot. The reason why I'm selling is that I don't use it anymore. It comes with the original power supply (EU plug!) but I don't have the original box. Cash on collection is preferred, I'm based in North London (N9), but I can drive or post it if necessary. (SWR MO Bass in the background not for sale) From the Rocktron Website: There's a storm on the horizon and it's called Blue Thunder. This Rocktron Bass Preamp with Multi-Effects is a live and studio tool that's been specifically designed and voiced for bass. The preamp has 128 pro presets designed for bass. A selectable hi-pass effects filter allows you to determine the frequency range being passed through the digital effects, delivering lush effects that won't muddy up your low end. Custom voiced bass effects including flanger, phaser, tremolo, delay, and reverb. Rocktron's dynamic compression is included and has also been specifically engineered for bass. If that's not enough, Rocktron's multi-voiced delay and chorus are specifically voiced for bass use in live and recording situations. Want some distortion? The Blue Thunder rolls out built-in distortion designed specifically for bass which can be added to your dry bass signal and effect path independently as desired. Rocktron's unique signal routing allows you to choose between an analog direct feed, or full effects routing. The Blue Thunder has a most powerful and flexible tone shaping tool with Rocktron's SIMbiotic 4-band parametric EQ consisting of 2 sections of band-limited parametric EQ and bass and presence along with 2 sections of full bass. Parametric mid and treble EQ sections. A Speaker Exciter with Sonic Clarity and Sonic Boom controls allows you to record direct, while adding a new tonal dimension to your live sound. Whether using the Blue Thunder Bass Preamp with a power amplifier and speaker cabinets or while recording with the cabinet simulator engaged, the Speaker Exciter offers yet another extension of tonal expression allowing you to choose the speaker size (8", 10", 12", 15") then giving you even more tonal possibilities using the Sonic Boom and Sonic Clarity controls. When the Cabinet Simulator is active the outputs are specifically conditioned for direct recording to produce a virtual miked cabinet response. This allows you to connect directly to a PA system or recording equipment and leave that heavy cabinet home! Cabinet Simulator works in conjunction with the Speaker Exciter to deliver lifelike direct recording. Separate input and output level controls on the Blue Thunder accommodate all kinds of basses with active and passive pickups. Rocktron's unique signal routing allows you to choose the signal path type for the direct mix, analog or digital. For effect loop routing you may want to use the Blue Thunder in an effects loop of your existing preamp. In this case you can route the direct signal around the DSP by setting the Direct Path option. With Direct Path Analog, your direct signal is untouched and then mixed with the DSP effects only. With Direct Path Digital you are using the Blue Thunder as a dedicated preamp. The Blue Thunder incorporates Rocktron's award-winning digital HUSH noise reduction. All presets on the Blue Thunder are user programmable and can be restored to original factory settings. A tap button for delay and rate control is on the front panel and is MIDI programmable. The Blue Thunder has full MIDI capabilities when you use the optional Rocktron MIDI XChange, MIDI Mate or All Access footcontrollers). (See the accessory box on this page.) Using a MIDI footswitch and expression pedal will allow realtime control of virtually all effects parameters. The Blue Thunder uses 24-bit internal processing via Motorola DSP Engine for double precision 48 x 48-bit multiply with 96-bit result. Features Preamp with live and studio effects 128 pro presets designed for bass Selectable hi-pass effects filter allows you to specify frequency ranges that are effected Won't muddy up your low end Custom voiced bass effects including flanger, phaser, tremolo, delay, and reverb Rocktron dynamic compression Multi-voiced delay and chorus Distortion designed specifically for bass can be added to your dry bass signal and effect path independently Unique signal routing allows you to choose between an analog direct feed or full effects routing SIMbiotic 4-band parametric EQ with 2 sections of band-limited parametric EQ and presence 2 sections of full bass parametric mid and treble EQ sections Direct out with Speaker Exciter and Sonic Clarity plus Sonic Boom controls Separate input and output level controls accommodate both active and passive instruments Can be used in the effects loop of your existing preamp HUSH noise reduction All presets are user programmable Tap button for delay and rate control is on the front panel and is MIDI programmable
12. [s]I'm selling my BOSS DD-20 Giga Delay Pedal.[/s] I has not been used a lot and the reason why I'm selling is because I don't really use it anymore. Unfortunately, I don't have the original box and can't provide a power supply adaptor either. I'm based in North London (N9) but I can drive to a reasonable distance. I prefer cash on collection but I can also put it in a box and post it if necessary. Info from the Roland website: The Boss DD-20 Digital Delay offers more User memory and the longest delay of any effect pedal—up to 23 seconds! Delay time can be quickly set using the push-button knob or via tap tempo. And with a choice of 11 modes—including new “Smooth” and “Twist” delays and sound-on-sound recording—this Twin Pedal raises the bar for delay effects. Boss’ most powerful delay pedal with up to 23 seconds of delay 11 delay modes including classic tape delay and sound-on-sound recording New “Smooth” and “Twist” modes for subtle or radical delay effects Memory function for changing delay modes seamlessly New push-button knob for setting delay time in fine or coarse adjustments 23 Seconds of Pro-Quality Delay With up to 23 seconds of delay, the DD-20 easily outshines the competition and can even double as a sound-on-sound pedal. Delay time can be adjusted via tap tempo or using a knob, which also features a push function to set the delay range more quickly. Eleven delay modes are provided covering everything from analog and tape delay to reverse delay and more. A new Memory function makes it possible to change delay modes New “Smooth” and “Twist” Modes The DD-20 also introduces two all-new delay effects that are sure to blow some minds. Twist creates wild delay effects similar to “over the top” manipulation of an analog tape echo, while Smooth creates ultra-smooth delay effects. This is a pedal no guitarist should be without! 15.
We all have 10" needs.
I prefer 15" nowadays. Am I being too greedy?
16. Hi All, I'm selling my TC Electronic Combo450 (RH450 Head & RS210c Cab). The combo is in good condition, although it does have some marks that you can see on the attached photos. It comes with a full (it closes at the bottom with velcro) Roqsolid cover. No controller though. More information can be found on the TC Electronic website: http://www.tcelectronic.com/combo450/ I'm selling because I recently acquired a RH750 from a fellow BassChatter and because at this time I prefer larger speakers, but also have a 4x10 cab to serve my 10" needs. Collection from North London (N9) or I can drive to a reasonable distance. £825 Trade-wise, I'm looking for a lightweight 1x12, 300-400W, (front-ported), 8Ohm cab. I'm also looking for a digital 16-channel mixer and a couple of loud-ish active PA speakers if anyone happens to have any. Thanks! 17. I've been using a http://www.spidercapo.com/xxl-spidercapo.html It's great for weird tunings too as you can engage each string individually. Putting it on and taking it off the bass can be a bit slow though.
18. Thanks for the replies! I wasn't sure whether all these sites have age restrictions, as I couldn't find young bands looking for musicians when I looked. Unfortunately, he's not up to the standard (yet) so he wouldn't be able to join a pub etc. band. I guess local music shops / rehearshal studios would be a good start...
19. Hi All, One of my bass students wants to join a band but he doesn't like the ones from his school. Are you aware of any websites (or other ways) for young musicians that want to start/join bands? Cheers, Antonis
20. Here is my soundcould page: http://soundcloud.com/antonismbass I have uploaded 7 tracks which are part of an EP (sort of) called "late August thoughts" They have all been composed on a bass and the majority of the sounds come from bass. Hope you like it...
21.
I'm now on the second track and think it's great. I am a big fan of GYBE and Mogwai and your stuff is along those lines. I have friends who would also like this... Nice one!
Hey. Thanks for the comments. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the tracks too.
