1. and another one of my MIJ vintage basses has to go.... (to make space for another Tokai) Tokai Jazz bass in great condition, rare Custom Edition, ca. 1986 J-45, great quality Japanese copy of a 60s Fender jazz bass. Candy Apple Red, Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard (could also be pau ferro, hard to tell) Only a few markings and dinks to the body and neck (see photos) all original Vintage threaded bridge saddles and thin vintage-style frets Neck is straight, truss rod works, frets at almost 100% Electronics work fine Pickups were slightly microphonic when I got this. I had them re-waxed by a professional guitar tech and they sound good now, with no unwanted noise. Weight is 4kg (on digital scales) Plays and sounds great Comes with original Tokai leather gigbag. PS: the Custom Edition Tokais come without pickguard, so this is standard no trades Price includes international shipping, insured

5. if the bebop's the same quality as the origin custom plus fender measurements I might just do that
6. @AgentCooper and siverfoxnik yes, there's already a shim in the neck pocket, neck relief is about 0.5mm at eight fret. the bass was actually set up by a guitar tech to get best possible action under the circumstances. he also filed down the nut a little bit. cheers, Pat

8. Thanks Bubinga, this bass is really one of the best jazz bass fivers I've ever played, great b-string too. if it was passive with 20 frets I would never sell it. just got too used to the ole fender style (might try a bebop at some point ; )
9. No one interested in this? I think it's a fair price, they are around £ 2200 new....

12. Greco Electric Bass 'walnut brown' with maple fretboard. 1977 serial, all original except knobs, pickup/bridge covers and thumb rest. ok condition for a bass this age, some nicks in the lacquer (see photos) relatively flat and smooth neck for a p-bass. 4,2 kg. neck width at nut 41mm frets are ok, but please note - the truss rod is operable but is maxed-out clockwise, which means it's not possible to get the strings any lower than they are now without buzzing on the higher frets. string action now is (from top of fret to bottom of string): E - 3mm, G - 2,5mm. This never bothered me (I play with mid to high action), but just wanted to mention that this is not a bass for players who like very low action This is reflected in a lower price £260 more photos here: http://s760.photobucket.com/user/paddypatel/library/Greco%20P%20brown?sort=2&page=1 insured shipping no problem
