1. Selling my trusty Jay Turser "Tele" style P bass. Great bass, very light, looks great, sounds great. It's been gigged but you'd never guess, no marks. Would suit someone looking for a first bass, or back up bass or, like me, your main bass. I played this over a number of more expensive basses. Only selling as I'm playing guitar in the band now and can only afford to keep one bass (which was chosen due to sentimental value!) £125 + Shipping (inc. basic but good condition gigbag.) Can collect from the Chippenham, Wiltshire area. 2. bump, trade update, any 6 string guitars are worth a shot, Fenders are my usual weapon of choice but try me
3. Hi Guys, First off, apologies, no pics just yet, just moved house and the camera was lost along the way it seems so will have to borrow my work camera and get some up tomorrow! It's looking like I may be covering guitar and bass duties for a while (came out of nowhere!!) so need a suitable 6-string guitar so I'm offering up my MIM Fender Jazz Bass as a trade. It's a sunburst/rosewood affair in good condition. The main issue is that the previous owner scuffed up the arm contour in a roadworn/relic kind of way (not through to the wood just a slight dulling of the paint!) but then stop before going any further. My description makes it sound much scarier than it is and in all honesty, in most lights you cant really tell its there as its shining up again (i assume where my arm is rubbing it?!) It is totally standard other than a wilkinson bridge with brass saddles. No other dents/dinks of any size, just the odd bump that all basses have once being gigged a bit! I'm after a 6 string of the fender persuasion. Not necessarily a fender but that style. Squiers are fine and anything non-fender but quirky will also be considered (hollow, short scale etc). As long as it's not too pointy or bright. I would sell outright for £260. I will also throw in a body glove case/gigbag. Its seen better as the front pocket is a bit torn but it's a great idea, kind of case meets gig bag in last night liaison. I will ship at buyers expense, don't mind arranging it though.

5. Hello, Not sure if this topic was best placed in here or the recording forum, it's relevant to both really. To get to the point, you get a really good cab that sounds great in the practice room/at home. You come to play live or record and you want that sound to be the one through the PA or on record, so you mic your cab. Is the sound that you get the sound of your cab or, as you're mic'ing the speaker, is it the sound of the speaker? I've always assumed that a cab will sound the way it does due to a combination of factors, the speaker, porting (or sealed), where the listener is stood in relation to the cab, where the cab is placed in a room (?) and so on. But mic'ing the speaker relatively closely seems to reduce the influence of other factors and place most of the importance on the speaker itself. I have absolutely no reason for asking this question (i'm not in this situation at all) other than it just interested me!!!
6.
I looked at them but I change my strings once a year or so so the longer lastingness of DR or status appeal to me more.
Good point, though i guess changing once a year makes the status strings at normal price look good. Less than 5p a day!!
7. http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/products/597-legacy_4_string_nickel_bass_strings_40_100_45_105_ £7.95. Absolute bargain, check the reviews on strings direct, I've used with no torubles whatsoever.
8.
A bassist in a local band uses a Behringer head & 410. I don`t know what model it is, but it sounds great, and he gigs regularly, without any backup gear. For info, he has a very JJ from The Stranglers type sound.
FWIW, i used to gig a alu cone behringer 4x10 with an old Crate head and had no troubles. Sound quality not great but it worked and was loud enough.
9. http://www.thomann.de/gb/kustom_de300_hd_head.htm i use the 2x10 version of this (which it looks like they no longer make) and it's a really good amp, can get quite overdrivey if thats your thing.
10. Hi guys, this bridge has been sitting doing nothing for a little while. It's an old schaller bridge, nice bridge, very handy adjustable string spacing. It's a nice solid unit, had it on a p bass for a while and it worked a treat. It's a little pitted in places, due to it's age rather than abuse. Would look right at home on something that's been played hard. Looking for £25 + p&p but make me an offer, its hard to get a price for these, seen them on thomann for around £60 but they don't seem to be easily available in the UK (or maybe I'm not looking in the right place). Pics attached, let me know if you want them emailed or anything.
11. bought Squier Vista Musicmaster off of Will. Great guy to deal with.
12. Hi Guys, I bought this bass recently on here. Got it for my girlfriend, but she's happy with her Bronco (sentimental value - i played it at glasto ). I thought i'd keep it for myself (and i still may) but I've been experimenting with some drop tunings recently and a short scale Musicmaster is not the most suitable. It is a beautiful bass though and if the right trade doesn't come along I will gladly, gladly keep it and it will get used. It's in good condition for it's age (96/97) with some chips and dinks and some buckle rash on the back. So, what am I looking for in a trade. Something P-Bassy, J-Bassy (Squier CV and VM's, that kind of thing) and anything a bit quirky. But I'm looking for a 34" scale to handle the lower tunings. Nothing pointy and nothing pink. pics attached

14. I have the Behringer BDI21 and have found it extremely useful. For recording it works fine, but I've mainly used it for gigs where I've just gone DI or where I'm using an unfamiliar amp. It's not very sturdy but it's more of a "on top of the amp" thing rather than a "on the floor" thing. It works great. For the price it's great to have around!
15. Looking to sell my Boss ME-50b pedal due to bass purchases but mainly car insurance/mot/road tax (all in the same month - lovely ) It's in great condition, and comes complete with a flightcase/pedalboard case thing plus a proper Boss PSU. Its fits in the case nicely with a little bit of space left over (I had my earplugs and emergency DI pedal in there too). I'm afraid I don't have the manual but one is downloadable (http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/_support/om.cfm?ln=en&dsp=0&iStcd=4&iCncd=48) Quick copy and paste of features: Floor-based bass multi-effects processor with easy analog control Killer COSM Compressor/Limiter and Drive effects, plus T-Wah, Slow Gear and Defretter Innovative Sound Hold function for sustaining a low note while playing on top Sound On Sound recording with new Kick Drum effect for keeping time Dedicated knobs for each effect section—no menu-surfing! Easy Tone effects with Preset EQ templates for quick tone editing 3 footswitches and onboard expression pedal routed to 6 options like Octave, Wah, etc. Solid metal case built to withstand abuse Full spec here: http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/ME-50B/specs.html I really do like it, but got to make ends meet. It's a solid giggable multi effects unit with PSU in a sturdy case, all you could want. I'm looking for £135 plus shipping, which i anticipate to be around a tenner. A pretty good price i think considering new prices are c.£210 for the ME-50, £20 for the PSU and another £40 for the case!! Pics attached Any questions, drop me a PM or post a reply. Cheers all.

17. Hi Guys, Selling my Crate Head and Behringer 4 x 10 cab hoepfully together as i need to get rid of both. THE HEAD The Crate is a 440W @ 4Ohms head. You can download the manual here http://audio.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg...ers/bx440h.html. Key features: -Bi-amp capabilties (see the manual as it explains this better than i can) -Made in the USA --8 band graphic eq plus contour switch -DI out (pre or post eq) -Headphone out -effects loop -440w at 4 ohms or 250 at 8 ohms. I've only used it for practice and it's a bit overkill for that as its far too big/loud. In good nick, not mint, its been used but I've taken pretty good care of it (one tolex tear - see pics). Bottom line it's a nice sounding head with plenty of eq options (also sounds good with a pre-amp thru the power amp). THE CAB 4 x 10 - 4 ohms - 1000w power handling. Yes it's a Behringer. It's not a classic but it does what it does well. It's loud, it's clear sounding, and its never let me down. Being 4 ohms it gets the full 440w from the head and is plenty loud for most situations without pushing the amp or the cab itself. Good condition, scratches on the corner protectors (its what they're there for!) Switchable horn. I'll throw in a 1/4inch to speakon cable too. I'm in swindon, wiltshire. On the M4 and it will need collecting. I can meet Bristol way as I'm there most weekends. And for this pair i would like 150 of your english pounds. Not bad right? Perfect for the practice room and gigging, nice as a backup. Jam night workhorse. Whatever, it's a good sounding pair at a good price. Pics here http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f288/211...te%20Behringer/
18. Hi Guys, haven't really plugged my band before on here, but got a couple of new video's if you fancy a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI8qzpyGt80 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM28CoTZfhg EDIT: while we're at it here's another recent-ish one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R38jI3JW6Ac&NR=1 bass is a bit quiet, was solely di'd that night due to backline issues, which is a shame as our songs tend to have static guitar parts with the bass moving underneath. but you'll get the idea. thoughts?
