1. Right then folks, it seems that people ain't feeling the '80s luv for this Westone Super Headless!! Shame, as it's a cracking player, beautiful fast neck, tonally versatile and in great shape. It seems like evil bay is calling, as my recent pedal GAS has left me a bit short and I have to move this one on, or at least trade it, which I can justify to myself in some kind of GAS-driven logic! See below for trade preferences. So, to avoid the dreaded bay, I'm open to offers on this, as long as they are around the £270/£275 mark (ex any delivery - free to collect from London/Colchester). I can get anyone interested pics of the hard case that comes with it too. Any takers before the bay? I'm looking to sell my Westone Super Headless bass which I bought S/H in about 1986. It's the Walnut finish model - named the Super Headless Bass RC (X910WA) and has 2 Magnaflux RB pickups. I've barely used it since the early 90s when I moved on to Fenders. But it's a versatile sounding beast, and has a very nice slim, fast neck. Generally in excellent condition all over, bar one missing pot as you'll see from the pics and one or two dings - overall great condition for the age though. Comes with the original Westone hard case which is also in good condition. More pics available if anyone fancies a look see. And there's more info on it HERE I'm based in Colchester but regularly rehearse and gig in London, so happy to meet up in London for anyone to take a look. [s]I'm looking for £325 (plus delivery if needed) for this. [/s] [s]I'm looking for £300 (plus delivery if needed) for this.[/s] Would be interested in a Squire Classic Vibe Jazz (particularly if modded) or a Precision Special or something interesting of that ilk, plus a little cash. Or perhaps an Orange Bass Terror head plus money the other way! But really I'm after putting the money towards some backline - a decent (for the money) 4x10, 2x10, 2x12 or an Orange Bass Terror. Or Ampeg usual floats my boat - micro VR anyone?! Someone asked for some pics showing any battle scars, so I've added a couple that show a bit of the buckle rash on the back which is barely there and the only real ding which is on the back bottom edge - it's only 4-5mm across and very shallow. And you can see on the shot with the serial number where there bass has knocked into the odd guitarist on stage. Scars well earned! All in all, this is in excellent condition I'd say, the neck is pristine and a joy to play.
2. I picked up a PM4 Supreme from another BCer the other week and have to say that they're fantastic playable basses - highly recommended! And that's a great price too. Good luck with it!
3. I had one of these (factory fretless and unlined) in natural, back in the day. They're great basses. So a headless fretless bump on me - though a bit soon after your own bump admittedly...
4.
Oh my That Framus is lovely. Leo
Thanks Leo The Framus is now with Andy Baxter (andybaxterbass.com) - a good guy, if anyone fancies paying dealer rates for vintage stuff. And sorry GR - my G.A.S. has changed from a Jaguar to a G&L SB-2 or Sandberg I'm seeing later tonight. But best of luck with the sale/trade.
5.
John, you are more accurate with the weight.I made it a tad under 9lbs. **And now on hold pending a fellow Ayrshire Basschatter viewing it this weekend**
Any news on this over the weekend - I'm kinda hoping it's still available, but congrats if it's gone (to both buyer and seller!) - a lovely bass! Ian
6.
TBH, this sort of bass crops up so infrequently here on BC, you might be hard pushed to get a price steer. Unlike vintage guitars, these old troopers rarely seem to get much love... you could certainly tout it round Denmark St and see whether anyone bites. Bass Gallery in Camden might be worth a call, New Kings Rd Guitars in Fulham - in other words, the usual suspects. That said, you might profitably check out the prices in some German guitar stores and ebay.de - perhaps there may be more of a premium for Framuses in their land of origin.
thanks SD. I have a feeler out with a couple of dealers but will speak to a couple you suggest too - cheers. After that it may be the dreaded eBay.
7. Late evening bump. Anyone got any more thoughts on this? Dealers look to be after £650 - £700 on ebay for similar things in playable nick, though that sounds a lot to me! What do you think?
8. Would be super interested if I can get a decent sum for my vintage Framus! ... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=79135 Good luck with it!

I'd be keen though I'd have to get rid of my '65 Framus Star bass - nice, but gathering dust at mine these days! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=79135
10. Hi I've got a nice Framus Star Bass (5-150 I think) that I bought at the end of the eighties and which hasn't seen any real action for about 15 years or so now, so I'm wondering what the current value might be, as I'm looking out for a back up bass to my '76 Jazz and, predictably, need some readies. When I bought it (from Andy's on Denmark Street) in about '89, I recall they told me it dated from 1965, but I've not been able to verify that. One of the machine heads is a replacement and not the original Framus one, the neck pick up has a couple of screws missing and, generally, the old thing could do with a little TLC. The body has a few dings, but not bad for a guitar of this age. There's no case. But all in all, a lovely bass for someone who fancies a small restoration job! So, any thoughts on value would be welcome, or indeed recommendations of good vintage guitar specialists who might take it as? Thanks
