  1. Saw Nine Inch Nails in Dublin last night. Really impressive show in every way, which we have come to expect from Trent Reznor. I particularly appreciated the fact that there was a band media blackout from January when the tour was announced. It felt like pre-internet days and there was a real sense of anticipation. I only took a few photos, preferring to enjoy the show. There are dozens of videos and reviews up now, so there are spoilers, but for anyone going to Manchester or London, you are in a for a treat.
  2. One of Will's Japanese imports. It was never released in the European market. Fender Jp seems to have virtually everything we have and then these really interesting models as well.
  3. Here's another one I bought from BassBros in March. Unique bass, in terms of finish (black gold)), specs and mojo - this is the coolest looking bass I have ever owned. This is a signature model of the bassist, J, from Japanese rock band, Luna Sea. It is based on a limited edition custom shop, seen in the last photo. The custom pickups and reverse headstock combine to deliver a nice, thick p bass tone. Weighs just over 9lbs and a really comfortable neck which I believe is described as a soft v. Again, fit and finish are first class and exceeded my expectations (bought this before the red jazz I shared yesterday). Superb service from the guys at BassBros. Beware their website, serious temptation!! (I seem to have overdone the portrait effect on some of these photos!)
  4. Thanks guys. It's definitely not just another Jazz.
  5. Using the stacked knobs definitely takes some getting used to during a live performance but I am enjoying the range of tones I can get from fine-tuning and blending the pickups.
  6. I actually bought this in March but have only now gotten around to posting it. Saw the ad on BassBros' socials about a collection of Fender Japan signature models they had just taken delivery of, and it immediately caught my eye. This is a Fender Japan Tomomi jazz bass in fiesta wash, with mint pickguard, CS 64 pickups and stacked knobs, amongst other distinctive features. I'll keep this brief - great specs, sounds great, plays great, and everything you have ever heard about Fender Japan's attention to detail is spot on. Really impressive bass First time buying from BassBros and it was a top-notch experience. Sam and Will were extremely helpful, the bass arrived on time, was well packaged, good comms and they are nice guys to boot.
  7. Great story - enjoy the new bass!
  8. Price drop to £515. Same awesome bass, new improved price! Happy to answer any questions.
  9. Great chance to get an awesome shorty at a reasonable price. Any questions, just ask.
  10. Not sure if this is permitted, but I have a Reverend Sentinel short scale for sale in the classifieds. Really superb shortie, both in terms of tone and build. I'm surprised I haven't had any offers, even though there has been a good deal of interest. Branding perhaps? I'm only selling since I have gone back to playing my 34 inch basses but happy to share my experiences playing it .
  11. Some interesting features and good colours, but £999? Good value? https://uk.fender.com/products/player-ii-modified-active-jazz-bass?variant=50790143557919
  12. Cheers Pea. It really is a cracking example of this series. Someone will be very happy with this.
  13. I was thinking the same SF!! These basses sound and play great.
  14. The videos on YT are rubbish and do not do this bass justice. It looks very cool and sounds unreal! Someone will be delighted with this.
  15. I sold a bass to @uncle psychosis. It was a really enjoyable experience and everything was agreed and completed without a hitch. Sam is a top guy, good-humoured, excellent comms, and I enjoyed discussing all things bass with him. I would recommend Sam to other Basschatters without hesitation. Thanks again Sam and I hope enjoy your new bass!
  16. *PRICE DROP* £315 Really great version of the highly regarded Squier 40th anniversary series. The blonde wash is nicely done and some wood grain can be seen but none of the ugly streaking that affected other models. This is great sounding and playing P bass. Lightweight at 8.5lbs/3.7kg It is in mint condition. All stock parts. Selling to fund a new purchase, so no trades, thanks. Happy to ship anywhere in the UK, at the buyer's expense. Approx. cost would be £20.
  17. *PRICE DROP - £515* 30 inch scale, lightweight, great fun to play and delivers huge P bass thunder! 7.4lbs/3.4kg The three way toggle allows you to switch very quickly between a deep, dub type tone (neck position), full, throaty P (middle) and a brighter, more modern sounding P (bridge). This is a passive bass and all the magic is done using capacitors. All stock parts; the neck laquer has been removed with wire wool. In good condition - couple of dings and two small chips either side of the bottom strap button but nothing major. No trades, thanks. 18. Thanks guys. Great bass, really underrated and you get an awful lot of bass for the money. Hopefully someone will give this a new home soon.
  19. Reduced to £280 These are superb basses from the Squier 40th anniversary, vintage series and are well known on Basschat Very nicely finished, and sounds great, delivering a real throaty jazz growl. 20. Now reduced to £555 Fantastic bass with custom pickups designed by Reverend which sound MASSIVE – split brick in the neck position and a thick brick in the bridge. The blend knob is intuitive and allows you to find your tone really easily. Roasted maple, satin neck with some nice flaming; 12 inch radius which is really nice to play. The bass is in very good condition with a few little marks/dings, some swirling on the scratchplate, and some genuine buckle rash for that extra mojo! Not interested in any trades, thanks. 21. Thanks Bassmidget. I have a Mercalli but have always wanted to try a TG. I like the new colours and you know how it is when you get a guitar fixation. Have tried to sell my Mercalli on here but used market seems tough atm and had little interest. What did you think of the new TG colours having seen them in person?
  22. Has anyone been able to compare a TG to a Mercalli? Same pickups but different construction..Just wondering if there's a significant difference.
  23. Mine arrived today. Also posted from Italy a few days ago. These are still available but delivery date is now Feb 25! These should keep me going for a few gigs
  24. Thanks for the heads up. Ordered! I use these on all my basses, so pleased to get a real bargain.
