  1. Currently thinking about getting a 5-string got £450-500 to spend, any ideas?
  2. I'm leaving these guys as I'm forming a power trio, they're a great bunch of people, advert as follows:- Female fronted gigging rock covers band require a new bassist to join us. It's all covers at the moment and we've got gigs lined up till Christmas. The sort of material we are playing is Pink, Muse, GNR, Lenny Kravitz, Led Zep, Wheatus, Sheryl Crow etc. We're based in the Crawley / Horsham area and rehearse on Thursdays (own rehearsal area so no cost involved) and gig a couple of times a month but would like to make this more often. If you are interested, check us out at www.myspace.com/hollowsofvenus or call ryan on 07734 536220 or email [email protected]

    Ibanez bass

Liked my SRX390 so much I sold my P-bass! Loud and light as a feather with a fast neck - excellent! Got mine from Merchant City Music in Glasgow - £290.
  4. Sold my P-bass to Pablo, a no hassle sale - a pleasure to deal with!
  5. Does anybody know where I could get a better bridge for my Ibanez SRX390? Tried on the interweb but have had no luck yet!
  6. Was sold to someone but due to circumstances beyond their control they are unable to buy it so it's back on the market!
  7. After playing my Ibanez for a while I have decided to sell my Fender -details as follows : 2003 Fender USA Precision bass Passive P-bass pickups Black w/mirrored scratchplate (original white one can be supplied) Maple bolt-on neck 21 frets Official Fender hardcase (for a pic see left - I will be putting up some proper ones soon) £450 - pick up preferred. Dan
  8. My old Ibanez Musician 8-string was quite good in respect to it was passive/active - you could take the battery out and use the toggle switch like you would on a Les Paul a la Pete Townsend! Other players that I'm aware of that have used 8-strings in the past are the mighty Dug Pinnick of Kings X, Monty Colvin of Galactic Cowboys, Chris Squire and John Paul Jones.
  9. QUO-CAINE will be playing on Sat 4th Aug at The Cottage Inn, Nether Stowey, Bridgewater, Somerset, 8.30pm. Let's boogie!
  10. I've got a tax rebate so am wondering about getting an Aphex Bass Xciter, opinions please good and bad welcome!
  11. I've just recently got a SRX390 and it's about half the weight of my Fender Precision!
  12. Blimey, those Superfly heads are small!
  13. Thanx guys! Here's a list of all the stuff I have made myself poor buying over the years... Yamaha RBX550M - clanky Spector NS-4 - all round workhorse Ibanez Musician 8-string - a bugger to tune! Fender USA Precision w/mirrored scratcplate - good but wish the neck wasn't so thick. Trace Elliot GSM200 head - reliable Peavey 210BX & 115BX cabs - tough, could survive a nuke. Trace Elliot 100w geetar amp - bi-amped with the 8 string and the Trace head and Peavey cabs, guitarists beware! Ashdown MAG C210T-300 combo - good but still trying to find the right settings for me Dean Markley Overlord pedal - with a tube in it, niiiice. Sansamp pedal - worst £140 I ever spent E-H Big Muff - Nuff said Boss ODB-3 - ok, bit tinny Boss ME6B - it's got a whammy setting which I get a bit carried away with!
  14. Getting rid of my ODB-3, have been listening to demos of various pedals online, the EBS Multidrive sounds pretty good to me but I was wondering if anybody has used or tried one and could tell me what they thought of it?
  15. Wow, that is nice, beats my old Ibanez Musician 8 string in terms of looks hands down!
  16. Couldn't remember if I introduced myself on the old forum, so here goes...been playing bass for about 16 years, mainly rock/metal but like funk, pop, indie etc, first bass playing idol was Rick Savage (Def Leppard) then VERY quickly realised my mistake and got into Rush! Have been in many bands over the years, spent way too much on bass related items when I should have been saving for a house, did give up playing for about 3 years but am glad to be back doing something I really enjoy. I'm currenty in two bands, Quo-caine - a Quo cover band (suprisingly!) and a covers/originals band called Hollows Of Venus, have just bought myself an Ibanez SRX390 which is really nice to play but I won't stop playing my Fender P-bass! Cheers!
  17. Cheers for the info, chaps, just waiting till I get paid!

I'm currently using a Boss ME-50B, GEB-7 and ODB-3 and I want to get a powered pedal board that will take 'em all, any suggestions?
