Aclam XS1 pedal board arrived this morning, needs a tweak (longer power lead from Alix to DGHL so I can swap the DGHL to the right of the Alix) but really liking the Velcro free clamp system, very tidy. All I need to do, once the pedal positions are finalised on the board, is find a way to mount the board on a stand, here it's just resting on a mic stand shelf.

... love the fact you can adjust without bending down, clattering some part of your bass in the process and tweaking your back haha!!!

  2. ... I've been looking at my 'collection' of late and turning away from them also. I even thought of doing the same and packing them up and see what I'd want to actually use! However I also would probably regret selling anything as it'd give me less options in the future, but you get overwhelmed by having the options ... and the cycle continues 🤔😐😁!!

Haha! Interesting, I considered the Xpand1 and I love a single line thing tbh, but I will ask how’s the Velcro behaving on the layer that slides in, and have to research on space for a PSU… I do like the concept though!

... the velcro acts fine when sliding in and out. There is a bit of a step between the two layers, but you can just space the pedals to compensate for it, or double up the velcro on one side of a pedal if you need to go over the join.

I also prefer the single rail boards I think, and the XPND works really well in that department. The bag is expensive for what it is, so you could consider getting a Pedaltrain Nano Max, keeping the bag and selling the board to get a decent bag for less ha ha!!

For a PSU the Cioks DC 7 I think just squeezes under there (check you tube for what it looks like). I'm currently using a daisy chain with mini pedals and for a quick pedal change around if needed it's great.

The Eventide is going on a separate vocals board so there’s still a couple of spots for pedals here….

... how do you find the Empress compressor? I've one and seem to be able to get a pretty decent distortion/overdrive sound when I have both the Attack and Release controls fully counter clockwise. Really not sure it it's supposed to do that though ...

    My small pedalboard.

The Cioks doesn't fit under the pedalboard and I am trying to find a solution. My MXR Poly Blue is waiting its room in the FX loop.

My Ashdown OriginAL and Markbass Vintage Pre are used sporadically when I have to use a lot of synth effects.

... nice Cioks SOL power supply. I didn't know they had brought this one out.

  6. ... the Aguilar Filter Twin used can be got for around £100 and has the benefit of both an up and down sweep with being able to control the speed of each independently. You can get some very musical sounds with it. I've also got an MXR Bass Envelope filter, more controls on this one but only sweeps in one direction.

  7. I managed to get Alan's Sadowsky SB2 preamp for a very fair price. I said that snail mail would be fine and contributed a few £ towards that, however he posted in Special Delivery at more than double the amount I contributed 👍. The item arrived in perfect condition and was exactly as described. Very good comms throughout and a pleasure doing business. A credit to the BC community for sure. Peace.
