It’s too late , you’re already in. The madness waits.

lol, I started my pedal journey with a HX Stomp thinking it'd suit me nicely. Then got a Boss OC 2, well, it's an analogue octave that the Stomp doesn't do that well, then an Aguilar Filter Twin, well, because it's an envelope filter that the Stomp doesn't do that well etc etc. Ended up trading the Stomp for a spare amp and continued to acquire a few more pedals ...

... and these are the ones not (obviously) on one of my already built 4 boards.

    Madness it is indeed!!!

  2. … for when space is tight on a gig …

R to L signal, Korg Pitchblack Mini - Xotic SP compressor - Markbass Raw Octave - Sfx Micro Black Dragon - TC Electronic Corona Chorus mini - Aguilar DB 925 preamp. All powered by a 6 way daisy chain and a 1 Spot (but have the option of a Volto) and mounted on a Pedaltrain Nano.

I use this in a Motown/Soul/Funk band I gig with when space is at a premium (lol, most gigs so far!). The compressor is always on, use the Octave when playing Superstition in C (singers!) and a combo of octave, dirt and chorus for a synth effect when playing Mercy.

The Aguilar is a new addition so not sure if it’ll be an always on kinda thing to fatten the tone somewhat (but I could do that with the amp EQ) or for the infrequent times I get to ‘stand out’ for a few bars ha ha.

  3. … I went to Stoller Hall, fantastic playing from all of the trio. Absolutely loved it, a good balance between old and new (I was surprised there wasn’t that much ‘Soundscape’ stuff), loads of soloing from both Tom and Janek and a large range of styles within the genre. Decent sections of groove playing also. One highlight (amongst many) was Nico doing some heavy drum stuff, whilst Janek was playing some fast walking lines and Tom getting busy on the Rhodes, awesome 😎. Stoller Hall was a beautiful venue and very easy to get to. It was probably one of my favourite gigs so far tbh. Hopefully Janek will release some footage sometime as I’d love to see it again 👍🏼

  4. … just bought a great little distortion pedal from Nigel. Good price, comms, pro packaging and next day delivery (think fastest on BC yet 👍🏼). Excellent BCer and wouldn’t hesitate to deal with again, cheers.

  5. Hey all,

Last night at a gig setup another one of my Warwick tuners broke on the string post. I thought I had broken 3, but I counted them all up and over the last few years 4 have gone!!

Thankfully I didn't live too far away and had bought some generic replacements so could go and get one!

I'm glad they have changed back to Schaller now!!

Can anyone recommend decent replacements please?

    Peace.

  6. Good all around. Acted quickly, very good comms, excellent packaging and a great price. Also included a pedal topper for nowt, cheers 👍🏼 Recommended BC’er folks.

  7. … I occasionally play about with a compressor into OC-2, a Fredric Effects BugCrusher, Solidgold FX Beta Mk2, a MXR Bass Envelope Filter and finally a chorus of some kind (either EHX Eddy or MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe). I do have other pedals that can be swapped out but some good synth sounds can be got with those lot. Err, I also have a Pigtronix Mothership 2 that is an actual analogue synth so that works nicely aswell. Once I got some very convincing Space invaders dying sounds I almost laughed at ha ha 😆
