  1. Tim sold me his outstanding Spector Euro LX. What a top guy Tim is. The courier I recommended was an absolute nightmare for him but Tim went above and beyond to ensure the bass got to me with as little delay as possible. Communications were spot on in every way. Prompt, informative and friendly.

An absolute first class Basschatter who I'd happily deal with again and again.

    Cheers Tim 👍

Unused in anger yet but I did do a full band rehearsal yesterday using my old Precision. 'Age appropriate rock' !! Loud drummer , 2 Gibson/Marshall fellas. It coped easily through my baby barefaced cabs with the gain about 2o'clock and the master about 1 o'clock. I didn't have to start swinging on the eq knobs a lot to get what to my mind was a decent sound. I found I could wind a little bit of growl in as it's got gain/master , unlike my TC BH head that doesn't. I like the split low and high mid controls too. The Thrust knob is a compressor but to be honest I didn't play with it much other than to stick it at 2 o'clock because that's where I put the toneprint knob on my BH head ( which has TC's spectracomp beamed in) . A yellow light near it flashed from time to time and when I can be bothered to download a manual I'll know why. As with my other TC I don't care for the silly little toggle switches and the TCs generally might be a bit clinical for some but it's small , versatile , the knobs all do something and it doesn't cost much. I can't speak for reliability as I've only used TC this past year but happy days , I reckon.

Oddly enough I think I tried to buy the one you bought too but it had gone....because you bought it !

Thanks for the info Dave. For the price it dose exactly what you'd want it to by the sounds of it. I'm really hoping the seller gets somewhere with the courier. I'd hate it to be written off as it's hardly the sellers fault.

RRRRRRsholes , RRRRRsholes , RRRRRsholes !!  Just bought one of these as a spare gigging head - arrived about an hour before you posted this ad and cost me thirty quid more !

S0DS law and all that! I bought the last one listed here on BC and it's currently lost in the post. I'm itching to try it out with my EBS 2x10 cab, my small practice room rig and back up. I'll just have to wait until it's hopefully sorted. I'd like to hear your opinion on the little beastie.

  4. A tough decision to sell this but it's proving too heavy (4.3Kg) for use in the band and I don't want it being unused. It's too good to spend its life in a case. My useless back starts acting up after about 30 minutes playing it so it's best to find it a new home.

It's been fitted with Fender CS '62 Pickups and KiOgon loom. It sounds great with flats although it's got a new set of 45-105 nickel Elites fitted at the moment. I'll put some flats in the case so you can hear for yourself.

Condition it's 'good used' with a few scratches and most notably a dink just above the scratch plate. See pic. Its looking properly vintage with the white Finish looking more cream and the dark rosewood fingerboard. The action goes low, too low for me and the truss rod turns fine. My crap photos don't do it much justice so if anymore are required please ask. The Fender tweed case has seen better days but it dose the job and like the bass, it looks pretty cool.

This really is a lovely looking bass and its a wrench to sell but a new lighter bass is incoming that needs paying for. No trade offers please.

Can be collected from here in Merseyside and I should be able to post it by next weekend. Can meet up/deliver depending on distance. I don't mind a drive down to Birmingham for example.

  5. Just bought a TD650 from Lee.

Really easy and hassle free transaction with prompt communications. Happy to meet half way in Birmingham which I'm very grateful for!

    Another top Basschatter.

    Cheers Lee 😎

  6. Reality check time. Do I like this bass? Hell yes. Do I need this bass? Well, no.

It's an excellent bass, I mentioned in a thread here that it's one of the finest Precisions I've owned and I really can't fault it. At 8Lbs 12oz it's lighter than my US bass and a joy to play. It sounds fab and for once, I had no desire to start looking at new pups. The fit and finish on these Mex P's is as good as I've seen on any of my US ones. The neck is the wide but shallow 50's type which I find very comfortable to play. The action was low when I got it, too low for me so I set it up to my clumsy liking so if low actions is your thing, this will happily accommodate.

Condition is excellent for a used bass, absolutely no issues to report, only the slightest surface scratches here and there. Nothing to photograph.

I fitted the white guard as in the pictures as I simply hate the feel of the gold anodized one. I like the look of them but that's all! The gold one will be included in the sale as will be the Fender gig bag it came with.

    So why am I selling?

I use my Roscoe for the band as it covers everything. It's my main bass and quite superb in every way. I have a '95 US Precision which I cannot bring myself to part with and mostly, I need to sort my amplification requirements out which will be expensive.

I don't have a box to ship it in so it's collection only from St Helens in the North West. I could possibly meet up if not too far for diesel costs or a Greggs veggie pastie.

No trade offers please and the price is firm.

I can take more pics if required but there's loads out there to view on line. Again, the condition is excellent so nothing really to show.

  7. I've never owned or even played on a custom shop bass but that made pretty grim reading considering the prices. You'd have to expect nothing less than perfection.

I bought a Vintera Precision off eBay a few weeks back and have to say it's one of the finest Precisions I have played. Lighter than my other Pbasses. looks great with the gold scratch plate replaced with a white one. The neck and frets are perfect with a very low action which I raised quite a bit to suit my liking and it sounds killer, absolutely no need to change the pickups.

I can't fault it in any way and all for under £500!

  8. Tentatively putting the wonderful bass up for sale as I really need to sort my amplification out which will be pricy. Something local to me has come up for sale which really floats my boat but if it sells before this I'll probably withdraw it.

Anyhow. I bought this here earlier in the year and it's not left the house. I mainly use my other Precision as it's well 'roadworn'. The LPB finish is gorgeous and I really wanted to keep it that way! I added a vintage off white pick guard and Fender thumb rest. I was going to replace the BadAss bridge and fit covers but I saw sense and left it be. Other than that it's in the same excellent condition as in the photos shown in the link below. (Much better pics than I can manage).

It's fitted with Labella flats but can fit rounds if required. It comes with a hard case and postage is possible but I'd obviously prefer collection or meet up.

Price is firm and no trade offers please.

All the details and history of the bass are explained below on the links.

  9. Well this makes bleak reading as my newly acquired twin channel LMK went bang at rehearsal last night. Only the second time I've used it. I'm guessing is quite old as its long discontinued so probably beyond economic repair (if even repairable). Pity, as when it was working it sounded great.

I'll try maying inquiries but I'm certainly not going to hold my breath. I've always liked Markbass amps and never had an issue with the many I've owned over the years so I've not had a bad run in all honesty but this will be the last second hand one I'll buy.

What exactly do you need this for?

As has been said in-line female sockets are quite a bit more expensive. Depending on your requirements it might be cheaper just to make up a few custom leads. And the fewer connections you have in your speaker connection the better.

I have a Markbass combo that I want to use just as a cab as I want to try a different head. The combos speaker connects to the head via a 1/4 jack so I'd need a female connector for that and the means of connecting that to my speakon lead. I found a female 1/4 to speakon lead but it was a little too short.

I found the exact solution but it was located in America, can't find anything here yet.
