Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass - Gone/Trade
Scooby replied to Scooby's topic in Basses For Sale

Looking to sell my recently acquired Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass. Unfortunately, I need to sell this or my Gretsch that is also advertised on Basschat. This is a 2003 P Bass that is in really good condition - usual, very minor blemishes on the back from clothing and a very slight dink close to the battery compartment (see pics). The only addition to the bass is a Badass 3 bridge, which I think is a great improvement! The blurb from Fender: Fender's American Deluxe Precision Bass® has the modern features that bassists demand, with an innovative designed preamp circuit that delivers exhilarating active and passive tone. Powerful-yet-quiet N3 Noiseless™ pickups present more clean headroom and EQ range than ever, and even more versatile tonal options come from the active/passive switch and passive tone control.

FS: Line 6 POD HD300 Multi-Effects Processor - SOLD

For sale is my LIne 6 HD300. I have rarely used it and only then at home. It sounds great with both bass and guitar - organise one or more banks for bass and further banks for guitar and you're sorted The Processor comes with the manual, mains cable and will be shipped in the original box. The effects are really good and very easy to tweak to be as subtle or outrageous as you want. It's a sturdy piece of kit - all metal - and I would think it'd withstand a lot of use live. Overall, a very impressive bit of gear but far too much for me as I never use effects live and it's wasted sitting on the shelf.
Ooh sounds good. Loud enough? I have read some reviews that say despite the watts on paper, it isn't as loud as a comparable 'normal' rig.
Here's a clip of Phil Jones explaining just what makes his gear so special! Also check out Ed Friedland demo about positioning the Cub/Flightcase to maximise the sound/volume. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JPsTGqeKh0

I managed to locate an ex- demo PB300 and linked it with the Cub. Absolutely blown away by the quality of sound and the depth! I simply wondered whether adding the Flightcase might just make it a more robust rig. Although it only adds another 50watts it's the extra two speakers and bass ports that I thought would be really beneficial. To be honest, can't fault the existing sound, so I might just leave things as they are plus the Flightcase only has one input and pre compared to the Cub.

I have only just acquired this bass and would much prefer to keep it. However, I need to sell either the Fender American Jazz I have up for sale or, unfortunately, this mint Gretsch. I have to admit I was a little skeptical when I got this - large body, pick-ups, etc etc. But, and it's a big but, this bass sounds huge, balances beautifully, is very light and, with a short scale is solo easy to play.
i dont want to be the BC police but ..... quote.. This has all the top quality hardware that you come to expect from a top class Fender - not to be confused with some of the American Fender basses that are built down to a budget. is this not what your selling dude.. love to see pics though
Apologies if I wasn't clear. What I am saying is that there are some Fender American basses that, because they are built to a budget, use hardware that reflects that budget! Quite simply, you pay more you get more. This Jazz has the high mass bridge, Fender quality tuners, pups etc. The budget American basses, although great value for money, do use hardware that reflects the budget. Hope that clarifies things a little 'Hutton' thanks, I have now added the pic link

Reluctantly I've arrived at the conclusion that - no matter how much I try - a Fender Jazz is just a little too big and heavy for me. I bought this very recently hoping that this would be my go to bass. It sounds lovely and has all the typical sounds associated with the Fender Jazz. The maple neck and maple fingerboard are so smooth and slim making playing a dream. The gloss black body is one of the lighter Fender basses that I've tried with a sleek and stylish look and feel to it. This has the more expensive hardware - high mass bridge (Strings-Thru-Body or Topload), top quality Fender tuners, pups etc. This black gloss Fender Jazz comes with s superb Fender embossed SKB flight case, manuals, tools, strap, cable and documents. I took off the white scratch plate, tried a black scratch plate and then decided that the grey pearl looked the best! I will include all three scratchplates in the sale. The bass has brand new D'Addario strings fitted.
