I have a midi file and could print out the bass part in standard notation - any good to you?

  2.
I am a minister in the Church of Scotland and would not ever consider being as offensive to any other occupation as some members have been here to my profession. Reasoned debate is one thing offence is another.
Do you feel that all professions should be immune from lampooning, satire, derision, parody, cutting humour - or just your own?

Exactly what did you find offensive?

  3.
I should point out the adverts placed by the humanist society states there probably isn't a god. That sounds like a belief to me, so perhaps it is about time we started harassing the humanist society, it's bad enough that believers in god club together, but how sad can to be in a club because you don't believe in something.

They really are sad gits, it's a bit like being in an anti train spotter club because you don't like train spotters.
This is what the humanists believe, taken from their UK web site:

"- Humanism is an approach to life based on humanity and reason - humanists recognise that moral values are properly founded on human nature and experience alone. Our decisions are based on the available evidence and our assessment of the outcomes of our actions, not on any dogma or sacred text.

    - Humanism encompasses atheism and agnosticism ‑ but is an active and ethical philosophy far greater than these negative responses to religion.

    - Humanists believe in individual rights and freedoms ‑ but believe that individual responsibility, social cooperation and mutual respect are just as important.

    - Humanists believe that people can and will continue to find solutions to the world's problems ‑ so that quality of life can be improved for everyone.

    - Humanists are positive ‑ gaining inspiration from our lives, art and culture, and a rich natural world.

    - Humanists believe that we have only one life ‑ it is our responsibility to make it a good life, and to live it to the full."

What particular part of that philosphy makes them sad gits, in your opinion?

    <snip>
There fore it can't be proven eitherway- this I why I said I dont see the logic of defulting to atheism.
If I follow your train of thought correctly, agsnosticism is not only the scientific position (= I don't know), it is also the only logical position, given that you can neither prove nor disprove the existence of god. Right?

Having said that, I think you will find that most atheists would have no problem accepting that there is a god if there was a viable reason for doing so. They would probably still have an issue with most religions, but that's another matter.

  5.
The existence or non existance of God is a possibility. It has to be as we are discussing it. In science you always start from a "i dont know" position.
If I put 10 arguments for Gods existence to you, even if you disproved each and everyone it doesnt disprove God just my arguments and my finite intelect. There is always the possibility that there is another argument for his existence that you can not disprove.
Equally 10 arguments that God dosen't exist could be defeated. Doesnt prove God doesnt exist. Just that you don't have a watertight arguement for his non existance. Equally the fact is there is the possibility that there is an arguement I have no answer too and proves God doesn't exist.
There fore it can't be proven eitherway- this I why I said I dont see the logic of defulting to atheism.
I believe in the Sungod. This is the argument I use when people try to tell me it's nonsense. It can't be proven either way, so what's the point of not believing.

  6.
No stupidity - BK is what was being discussed, Stevie didn't mention Hypex (about whom I've heard only good) til after you mentioned your bad experiences with BK.
To avoid any confusion, I was responding to this remark: "my plans now seem to have gone out the window as i can't find anyone who offers a similar product" by posting information on a company that offers a similar product.

  7.
I've always thought I'd prefer a few old slags waiting up there for me. I'm sure you can't catch a dose in heaven.
Wouldn't you like a change from the usual when you get to heaven?

  8.
and conversely no evidence of God's non existence.
You do realize that this argument would apply to Father Christmas as well - or to the virgins waiting in heaven for the suicide bombers. It is a non-argument, to put it mildly.

  9.
Don't go to Church is the only message I can take from that. Luckily, being the bible, it will contradict that point later on no doubt!
When it says you should pray in a closet, does it mean you should pray in the loo, or in a wardrobe?

  10.
Now I'm not too hot on Bible studies, but surely God doesn't mind a bit of shagging? Just the regular type, not anal or anything.
He doesn't mind a bit of shagging as long as you don't enjoy it. Sex is only for conceiving children. Pope Gregory the Great has a lot to answer for.

  11.
Bump

Really need to shift these, make me an offer!
I'll give you £50 for the 15-inch cabinet without the Eminence driver. I'm sure you'll be able to sell the driver without too much trouble.

  12.
p!ssed off is an understatement. as not only have i waited nearly 2 months for nothing. my plans now seem to have gone out the window as i can't find anyone who offers a similar product :)
This company is a world leader in the field of Class D amps: https://www.hypexshop.com/ - and they actually design and make the gear themselves.

What's more, they cater to the DIY community (hurrah!). The tests I've read on Hypex plate amps have all been extremely positive.

  13.
Current challenge is how to get at the speaker. There is no hatch anywhere, reckon the whole middle bit comes out. Plan is detach the wire I can see, lay whole thing on its front, undo screws on the sides and lift the shell off. Sound like the way?
Looks like an old EV Eliminator copy to me. Have a look here:
    http://members.aol.com/xxbase80a/eliminator/box.html

Click on Zeichnung for the drawing. Klappe is the hatch. No guarantee, of course.

  14.
Flame!!

Nope. I do the same as you actually :)
My hands are not big enough to stretch, but the open A sounds all right to me. I just tried hammering onto the F sharp in the main riff, which also makes it easier to play.

  15.
just a note on finger positioning...when I play it, it may not be perfect but it's damn close to the original and I find it easiest to play the main riff in 2nd position. I know it's a bit of a stretch but i find it sounds better and it loosens up my hand nicely for the rest of the set.

I'm prepared for the flaming re. using finger-per-fret up close to the nut, but it's not caused me any troubles...merely a suggestion on this ace song.
I'm playing the open E and A, but the D at the fifth fret on the A string, because it needs to be choked. I don't need to stretch at all.

By the way, here is the guy on YouTube really doing it justice.

  16. I'm struggling to get an accurate transcription of this Steeler's Wheel bass line. There are some on the web, but they are only approximations. There is one guy on YouTube who has nailed it, but I'm having a problem picking it up from that. If anyone has transcribed it (not tab), I'd be very grateful for a copy. Thanks in advance.

  17. I've had this amp from new and just don't need it any more. I've completely refurbished it, taken the speaker out, re-doped the surround, put acoustic foam inside the cab, retuned it to a more useful frequency, sprayed some of the metal parts satin black, etc. It now looks as good as it did when I bought it. However, the round bezel on the rear mains input panel is missing, although they are still available from electronics parts suppliers at a cost of around £2.

20 watts into a 10-inch speaker - it's plenty loud enough for in the house. As you can see in the photos, it has a 3-band EQ and a headphone out.

It's really well built and has never given me a moment's trouble. At £20, you can use it for five years and re-sell it for the same (new price was £100 in the bad old days). Local collection from Dorset much preferred, although failing that, I would pack it up and ship it to you for a tenner.

    :)
I think Bilbo may be playing bass on this one - it's certainly his kind of music.
