1. Don't use UPS. I thought they were okay before but they've just chucked around and smashed up a 30yr old 95lbs Ampeg SVT-ii. It survived two world tours but couldn't make a journey across UK in a van.

It must have been dropped or thrown pretty hard for it to come out of the rack mountings and every single valve to come out, one of them smashed into pieces in the back of the amp.

Sad photos below..

3. PRICE DROP was £350 now £300

Selling my Peavey Pro Bass 500 amp. Regretfully selling it as I need to release some cash for an old amp I'm after.

It's in great condition, it's lived its life in a rack case, recently moved into a Gator Rack Bag which will be included for free - http://www.gatorcase...9155-619/grb-2u

Only minimal rack rash as you can see from the pics. Huge sound, nice valve pre-amp punch to it too. Massively controllable sound from the parametric eq. Manual included. Made in the good old US of A.

Not looking for trades, just cash only please.

More info here on the amp here: http://assets.peavey...o500_manual.pdf

£350 + shipping, or cash or collection

Yes, these really are incredibly good. And wouldn't you know it, but Mr Limelight himself has one up for sale at the mo:

If I were the OP I'd still go with the incoming Sandberg at BD, though! ;)
I might well do that. Dropping Mark an email this afternoon about it!

5. yep... :(

the new ones aren't very nice at all.

Hi Steve,
no, we're only taking orders for the new Californias now. But there are still plenty of "old" ones out there in our retailers stores.
best wishes, Gregor

Of all the 'name' relics ive seen ive always thought the limelights looked a bit....naff. Dont look remotely genuine and a bit like a kid has gone at it with a sander. Nowhere near as genuine looking as the likes of nash and sandberg in my humble

I know what you mean, I've not seen any relics that match up to the Sandbergs.

Have you seen the Limelight thread here!? http://basschat.co.u...70#entry2773482

I had a Limelight 64-style Jazz for a while, and it was awesome! Looked as good as the real thing, and certainly sounded as good.

Also had an older Glockenlang loaded Sandberg Jazz too, for about two weeks...It was lovely, but I just never got used to the feel or sound.

How so, what did you think was different about the sound/feel, and how did the Limelight and Sandberg compare?
