    Not a daft question at all, it’s very common. Flats are darker and mid focused by nature, so using your roundwound EQ just makes them sound muffled. Try boosting mids around 500 Hz, adding a touch of low mids for warmth, and ease off the treble. A bit of valve overdrive or compression often helps bring them to life too. What amp are you running them through?
