1. Hi All,

A better pic to follow shortly tonight, but I'm moving this on as I dont really use it at the moment. This is a pretty well known pedal so I won't go into detail.

Comes boxed (tinned) with instructions etc and stickers! Its in great condition - I couldnt find any scratches/dings or the like. I'll remove velcro before sending unless you want it kept on there.

Looking for £105 posted, or happy to meet London (Kings-x, Liverpool St areas) or Bedford.

Thanks for looking

2. It all depends on how they're wired:
Two 8 ohm cabs in parallel = 4 ohms
Two 8 ohm cabs in series = 16 ohms

This is a useful link to calculate total impedance and power from your amp going to each speaker: http://www.duncanamps.com/technical/impedance.html It also has basic diagrams showing you how the speakers are wired.

Hope that helps

3. Best of luck tonight then! Looking forward tot he conclusion, but sounds like you'll be on good form!

Shame we didnt know about you before the olympics started, GB dont have an entry for that event this year! :D

4. Id advise the band of your predicament, but the fact youre prepared tö do it and youll need tö Slam it for four days. They can either go with another dep, or go with you.

I think the important thing is its an informed choice on their part. I wouldnt want a dep blagging it personally.

If youre keen tö get tö grips with the db, good opportunity tö have a crack and let them know you can in the future once youre ready.

If love tö say go for it, but Could be a very long uncomfortable gig otherwise and sounds ike your rep could be on the line.

5. We're expecting in October!

Out of all the preganancy/post birth books I've read to date, this topic hasnt been mentioned anywhere. Thank you for the insight, its very much appreciated and sounds like an issue that needs to be brought out into the open more by the bassing community :)

6. Ah, I love Rancid, some fantastic bass playing - Maxwell Murder's on my hit list to learn this year...... maybe it'll lead to a new concept album - Rancid Ham(fisted).

Anyone of the opinion that all punk is easy and boring on bass needs to have a good listen. Great track, and I'm afraid I cant contrinute any tips or advice....good luck with it though!

7. Hi Joel, im a new subscriber from 6 months back. I really like a lot of the suggestions above that youll be looking into. I think theyll massively improve an already decent read.

My tuppence would be rather than the "Bass in the USA" section, to cover bass across different countries. Other countries exist outside of the US, with equally or more interesting bass scenes. Im sure theres journos elsewhere prepared to chip in.

Im looking forward to the evolution over the next few months, and thanks for opening the floor.
Cheers

8. Thanks Geoff, sounds good. I'm going to have to go and try one of these out soon i think, much to the fear of my wallet! Have you got the silver or white face plate version?

I like a limited eq on the amp - my OTB is great because of that, i hate having to try and dial in a tone. Much prefer to know its there and that I can only subtly mess it up!!

9. At last!! Thanks!! A more subtle way than just grabbing my better half and blantantly poinjting staring and talking her through it!! :)

A hint of gear stalking there, you may need this...

10. I recently played outdoors for the first time. Similar set up by sounds of things, but a jubilee party. About 100 tö 150. Noisy pub rock band.

Using an otb500 and a compact, i drowned out the unmicd drums.

If the drums are micd, make sure theres enough power for you, if not, i reckon youll be fine.

11. Yeah, my guys found it funny for some reason I think due to both topic and title......that was until the drummer found a similar drum site - soon changed his mind as he found a plethora of useful info on performing, kit and second hand gear.......

I like the name, never found it amusing and it confuses me when people do!

12. Hi,
Been looking at this as i have a tube amp in my sights of some sort in the next 12 months or so.

Are there many users out there and whats your experience and thoughts? Doesnt seem tö be much in the way of discussion out there.

I like the aesthetics and its British... I think....

Cheers!

13. I dont understand a lot of this stuff, but feel more informed by the previous posts. Thanks for the explanantions and education. :)

So is there any difference in the delivery of the sound in the real world between Class A/B and Class D amps? Assuming everything else is equal.

I've been looking around recently and considering a 'rig of doom' of sorts. I thought that a larger amp was necessary and been looking at Mesa M Pulse, Fender, ampeg etc all the usual stuff. What I dont understand is whether there really is any benefit to lugging round a hybrid double or triple the weight of, say, an OTB or Genz which is hybrid and class D......

Is there more 'ooomph' or 'grunt' to a class A/B head or is the weight merely a placebo and theres no difference at all? In which case, why fork out these days for something heavy and more expensive, for perhaps a 'nominal' improvement in tone? Or is it that tone your paying for? Or is it nothing at all tone related?

Not meaning to de-rail the thread, but thought it sat ok in here rather than a new'en.

14. I use a Roland Bass cube for home practice which is quite nice with some nice features, and I also hear the EBS session 60 or 120 combos are very nice.

It also depends if this is purely a home practice, or a giging/practice amp in a band setting?

I ended up settling on the roland as I couldnt justify the size of combo's or wattage for a little home practice rig. Things like a power squeeze, some amp models and basic effects and a headphone jack, tuner and line in was what did it for me.

I looked at ampeg and ashdown as well. I found the Ashdown perfect 10 sounded thin and the ampegs only got going when putting out a bit of volume.....IMHO of course!
