1. Hi, I've decided to sell ( Now Sold, Thanks ) the Ampeg SVT 410 HLF I bought from my friend, who'd had it from new. Made in USA, condition is very good ( scratch on ampeg badge + couple of very small marks ), and plays just as it should. I've only ever used it for practice, since I've had it, as I tend to favour old retro gear. Cab is in West Sussex, and is collection only. Will pop up a photo when my wife shows me how to use the digifangled camera. Ps Will also sell my SVT 350 amp, but need to replace the fuseholder first, as it's disapeared inside the box ! works fine though.
  2. Lovely looking bass, and this guy really looks after his basses.
  3. Hi, Just my tuppence worth. Have used sansamp pedal, trace elliot v-type pre-amp( good, but not battery powered ), SWR Grand prix preamp (ditto), but have stopped looking after getting my EBS Microbass preamp. Great for DI, or, when using an amp, I now use the line input (ignore the amps pre). Give one a try, might just be what you're lookin for.

Just a quick note to thank Chris for travelling down south to buy my Variax Bass. This was when the weather forcast that day was for the worst weather in a zillion years. Great guy to do business with. If all people were like this, then parting with my bass gear would be far less painful. Glad you liked the bass, Chris.
  5.
Hi , I have a couple of Trace RAH500 's, from when I used to really play !( good old bi-amp days) and I don't use either of the now, mainly 'cos I would need to take 2 cabs with me, and I don't want to do that . Could I wire a switch into the power supply to one channel, so that only one 250 watt side powered up ? I used to love the sound when using them. The other amp, the ppa600, has an on off switch for each channel, but has separate transformers for each side. However, it is soooo heavy, do you know if it's feasable to make 2 mono amps from it ?
Have I put this in the wrong forum, or do I need to get out more ? Should I move it ( how ) to the Technical Forum ?

  10. Hi, I was reading Kalim's advert for his Superb Bass Collection bass, and drooling over the fantastic pictures, when I realised I still had my Bass Collection 5 string, model 315, I think, in a cupboard somewhere. Now, don't confuse the two basses, Kalims is the Super, top of the range model, and mine, although the same shape, is the painted version. Still a nice bass, with great hardware and active sgc nanyo pickups. I bought mine because I was having trouble getting used to the 5 string I had just had built, which had quite tight string spacing. I play quite hard, and my right hand is undisciplined, got me into all sorts of problems ! So, I figured, get a 5 string with normal 4 string spacing and practice with that. Took a while, as I don't think I'm a natural for the 5 string, but it worked. Then I switched to my new bass, and put the Bass Collection away. So now it's for sale. Nice Bass, well made in Japan, probably about 1990 ish, dark blue, slightly pearlescent finish, active, with two jazz type pickups, and active eq. Couple of small knocks on the body (minor), asking £195
  11.
Cool stuff. Is that price including postage? (I doubt it, but just in case...)
No. But I've learn't the hard way not to trust the post or carriers, so (for instance) I'd be willing to travel to bedfordshire for tea and diesel, providing I am going in that direction. (I travel with my work sometimes ). That way I can be assured that the Bass arrives intact.

  13.
I love my 5 string. Tempted by this one too. Any pics? Is it black or sunburst?
Just to confirm, it's the Sunburst. Still trying to borrow the wifes camera, but she'll need to show me how to work the damn thing.
  14.
Ok, i am playing in Chichester tonight, at the fountain. Can i get it today? Regards, Chris.
No Problem, will be in touch. Best Wishes Mike
  15.
I'd have it but as usual i'd have to clear some of my gear first!
But think of the space you would save, .......only one Bass......... just joking, When this sells, I'll be down to only 20.
  16.
Where are you based mate?
Hi Bassmeg, I live on the outskirts of Chichester.
  17. Just a sale, thanks, I've got more bass gear than any sane person can cope with, as I never ,(usually), sell anything. Guess what my new years resolution is ! Thanks for asking .
  18. Not if Mancuria is Manchester, I'm down south, Near Portsmouth.
  19. Well, I got so excited when someone clicked on my Genz Benz Shuttle for sale, I decided to sell my Sunburst Variax 4 stringer. The bass is like new, has all the bits that normally come with it, including the Di power box, special lead, and the super soft/hard case. Case is a bit dusty, but not from gigging, I lent it to a friend who does recording . Some people swear by these basses, and others don't like them, but I think that they are certainly worth trying, especially if you only have one bass. NOW SOLD THANKYOU.
  20. NOW SOLD THANKS. Well, as my wife has bought me a trolley for Christmas, so that I can take my Trace Elliot V4 out to play, I've decided to offer my Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 head for sale. Condition as new, except for some scratches to the black paint, where I packed the speaker lead in the bag with the amp. Front panel as new.
