  4. That is one of the best 1 second audio signals in my collection now.
  5. Presenting: A pop/disco track transformed into a future rave disco remix, starring special guest the Spector EMG-SSD. Song: Break My Heart. Artist: Dua Lipa Vocal track from: acapellas4u.co.uk Rewrote the chords and arrangement, then using the bit I know about future rave production teqniques, I played a 16 beat bass guitar pattern, like a mandolin. I split the bass guitar into three chanels then grouped them and gave that some Saturator > Compression/Expander > Compressor (kick side chain ducking) Bass guitar channels: CH1: Using fuzz and a leslie cabinet to make a 'saw wave' synth for mid range. Stereo. 100khz high pass into POD amps - post: Compression/Expansion > EQ > stereo expander > 16 beat volume chopper CH2: Using a small peak of frequencies to catch the 'snort' of the plectrum (how else?) Stereo. Fed post FX from Ch1 - 1.4khz EQ peak > Compression > stereo expander > Compression/expander. Ch3: The Sub channel. Key of F 55hz. Very low :] Mono. Fed pre FX from CH1 - 44hz low pass > compression > 16 beat volume chopper The channels are mixed in and out as needed for the sections. All flat out in the breaks. I DM'd Dua to ask if we should add it to the world tour set and if I'd need to wear a costume and do 'The Zip'. She said it would be a good one to end on but, she was still planning the tour and was having difficulties getting the promoters details from the receptionists at most stadiums these days.
  6. Unbelievable. Thank you for sharing. After learning of Richard R's misfortune during bass move rehearsal, to stay safe I'll be practicing this one with a pouffe and a broom stick to begin with.
  7. I see what's happened here. Words not thought through well, and doubt creeps in. The headless bass is however widely considered a perfectly adequate instrument for any phallic move. I have heard horror stories about U-Bass where bass guitarists have purchased these and quickly lost certainty that size doesn't matter. Please be careful.
  8. I enjoyed your input very much.
  9. @lurksalot Like the vibe of this and the style. I has a slight menace and intrigue about it. The riffs are sort of casual, in a good way, but bold and in place and the track flows well, keeping it interesting. Like it.
  10. I'm impressed. I've not seen that move done with diminished chords. Top skills. But perhaps you didn't need to lift your leg after all? When the Lord Reigns, you only need the bus wiper?
  11. Thanks Gents for playing along. I've had some good laughs.
  12. Crikey. Give me a chance. I need to get the basics before anything that advanced. I've almost perfected the the Log Float from the first edition. That simple illusion where by bobbing down then up slightly while supporting the bass with a hidden hand, retaining the bass height, makes the bass appear to 'float' on stage.
  13. Maybe if you lift your corresponding leg as the neck goes up, and call it the Half Angel, you'll own that?
  14. I may have mis-remembered? Sorry if I'm getting things mixed up. From memory, the Bass Sniper used to be called the Bass Canon, until Flux Pavilion released his single of the same name on 19th March 2011. Phallic moves are not so well known. unlike more conventional and popular moves you may have used yourself such as the Bus Wiper, where the neck is swayed vertically from high to low at medium pace, or with intermittent regular stops at the top.
  15. Thank you. It works a treat. I feel a bit daft now being rather obvious. You're spot on too. The One Pump Chump is listed as a dependency to the The Zip in the specifications for the standing position. Someone suggested going directly to 'Bass Sniper'. Unbelievable.
  16. A very good point. Although I have substantial liability insurance, I intend only to do this on larger stages such as on world tours and possibly cruise ships (if visible on stage) where the risk of poking someones eye out is reduced, as can happen in pubs. I'm hopeful that when I fully master the switch-back, with strong audience eye contact and head-twist winking, I will be generally admired.
  17. I heard he stopped after laddering his glove?
  18. Hi. I've been drawing on influences of the likes of Steve Harris and their impressive phallic bass moves. I'm working on my own moves and know the importance of practice but need some advice, and where better to ask than here. The move I'm concentrating on primarily is 'The Zip', executed in standing position. I place the butt of the bass body into the inner thigh extending the bass towards a would-be audience. At the end of each phrase I thrust hips forward, slipping the neck through my fretted hand to produce a glissando. That's all fine. I'm struggling to remember the correct technique for the switch back move. Mine's not looking so graceful, and I seem to end up with my feet to far apart? No doubt I've missed something silly but hopefully someone can remind me how it's done and I can get this popular move practiced to perfection.
  19. @Chiliwailer That calmed me down. Hypnotic and soothing. Made me feel bad about misbehaving in the power boat.
