  1. UPDATE 25/2/26 At last the bass has been returned to me. It took over 3 weeks since being spotted on an auction website, and I must say the auctioneers weren't very helpful at all, and wouldn't return phone calls or emails. I think the Police getting involved helped. It would have been very easy to find me if anyone had spent a few minutes googling. A receipt was inside the case with my details and the detail (name and address) of the person it was going to. I feel no effort was made to find the real owner - and saying it was lost/unclaimed is ridiculous. I'll leave it to the Police investigation to establish if there was any criminality involved, but I feel it passed through several hands before it got to the auction site, and these people had the opportunity to find out who really owned this expensive bass, but no effort was made. Someone was set to make several hundred pounds from its illegal sale. I have drawn my own conclusions..... Anyway, I'm very glad to have got it back. It's caused me a huge amount of stress, time and frustration (mainly stress)and I would like to again sincerely thank the person who contacted me with just hours remaining on the timed auction and alerted me. Also the Basschat community members who emailed Wellers Auctioneers in Guildford. I'm sure this really helped, so thank you. One last thing, the person it was made for has had a change of circumstance and is no longer in a position to buy it (I refunded his money in full as soon as I knew it was missing) which is fair enough, it's dragged on a long time with no guarantee I'd ever get it back. So it does mean it's now for sale, so if anyone is interested pls contact me for full specs and pics etc. Thanks again Basschat members......
  2. I have now had an email from Wellers saying it's still in transit back to the consignee and I should hear back early next week about getting it back. I won't be convinced until I actually receive it. I'll do an update next week. Interparcel and Parcel/Force are doing a criminal investigation into its disappearance, as are the Police. I'm not going to give up o this and will continue to make as much fuss about it as possible. The fact is, when I dropped it off at my local Post office, I had it bleeped and got an drop off receipt, but the tacking didn't automatically update. it never did. i think a PF employee spotted this and decided they could steal it and sell it - just my though.....
  3. I'd like to think so, but why won't Wellers speak to me or the Police, just to keep us updated?
  4. This had crossed my mind as well - also would explain why they are so reluctant to speak to me or the police....
  5. Update regarding Wellers Auctions, Guilford and the stolen Limelight bass 00315 - I've still not got it back. When the bass was first spotted on Wellers Auction site I phoned up first thing the following day and it was withdrawn from sale. I spoke to Andrew Snelgar he said he would get the bass back to me. He then emailed a little later and said he wanted to return it to the consignee. As this was the person/company who may well have been involved with its theft, and also trying to sell it, I said no, don’t do that. I heard nothing back. I emailed again stating how uncomfortable I was with his suggestion. Again nothing. Eventually I spoke to him a few days later and he informed me that he had returned the bass to the consignee. He said I would hear from them in a few days regarding getting my bass back to me – nothing. He also ignores all my phone call and email. I recorded both phone conversations with Andrew – The Police have both these recording The Police are now involved and I have a crime number.
  6. Hi everyone, this is Mark Morgan-Richards of Classic and Cool Guitars, and Limelight. First of all, thank you to everyone, this is a great community effort. I contacted the auction house first thing this morning and they withdrew the bass from sale. I now have to try to get it back...🤞 I have learnt a few things from this whole episode: 1) I will NEVER use ParcelForce or Interparcel again. 2) I will not be adding any logos to the headstock other than Limelight (or blank) from now on 3) I really appreciate all the help I got from this post (Thanks Paddy)
  7. Hi, sorry for the delay in replying, I haven't been on the site for a week or so..... Re the Grey one, I can't post it for sale on here because I'm a business (Classic and Cool Guitars) but feel free to contact me direct if you're interested in it at all. T Thanks....Mark
  8. I've got the grey one, it's going to be for sale soon as well....

  10. I've recently bought 3 basses off Tom, all as described, really well set up, and in great condition. Tom was very easy to deal with, really good communication and a pleasure to meet in real life too.
  11. Hi, I would like to buy this if its still for sale - can you confirm or contact pls?
  12. Just to say that Mike bought this bass from me a couple of months back, and he's a great guy to deal with, straight forward and reliable, and it's fantastic bass, too. Good luck with the sale, Mike!
