1. A calendar for me too, please. Will there be a different picture for every week?
2. It's worth posting an ad on Bandmix too. Norwichdarkside is fine if you're young and want to play metal.
3.
sunday bump! 543 views so far and not much love
Lots of love, just no cash!
4.
I have never been a fan of Sigs, they just seem to smack of ohh I wanna be like him having said that I've bought a fender mike dirnt. As far as specs it ticked a lot of my boxes early 50s scratchplate, split P contoured body had it said Fender vintage modified it would have still been on my watch list.. But most of all it does not say mike dirnt or have a star on the body, A major plus.
Me too. I bought one after reading a review and then trying one out. I'd never heard any Green Day until then.
5. Basses are like busses aren't they? If I hadn't just bought a Variax two days ago, I'd have been interested in this. There's an almost identical model in my local PMT, also secondhand. They want £409 for their one, so this is a gooood price!
6.
BUMP AGAIN!! HELP!
Get thee behind me, Satan, ye angel of temptation.
7.
Don't suppose YOU know how old it is?
Email Ernie Ball and ask. They told me model, the woods used, the day it was built and the name of the shop they shipped it to.
8.
How is this not an auction?
It has become an auction and it's because of that, that it now is against the spirit and, I think, the rules of Basschat. Has anyone asked a moderator to have a look and, if necessary, delete the thread?
9. I received SIX notifications for this new thread.
10. I sometimes get three or four for new threads in the For Sale section. Would it be because someone adds a new post and then edits it?
11. GHS Bass Boomers at the moment. I buy whatever is on offer and only change strings once every few years, so won't claim to be any kind of expert!
12. I've had mine ten years and it's given a good acount of itself. A slim, fast neck, active, twin humbuckers. Excellent value!
13. A Washburn XB-400 was my first bass. I still have it and still play it regularly. Now I have seen how cheap they are secondhand, I'm hanging on to mine!
14. Black Crowes' version of Too Hard to Handle.
15.
There's a centre indent feel on my 'Ray. Not sure about the Subs.
I don't have centre indents on my 2EQ StingRay. Maybe it's an age thing?
16.
I must admit to having been slightly apprehensive. It's the first bass since about 1979 that I've actually paid for. In those days you got to try the actual instrument that you were interested in. Nowadays, it seems there are fewer shops, with less stock, but more component choices available. Shopping online is the only real option. Anyway, fingers crossed!
Actually, shopping online is the problem! (I've not - yet - bought a bass I hadn't tried out first.)
17. Here's my Candy Red one: It's a 2-eq StingRay, made in March 2001 with a Southern (US) ash body, rock maple neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard. I bought it last year and love it. The neck is very, very smooth.

19.
Perhaps what we can agree about though is that the distillery that has opened down England way should be mortared as soon as possible....
The distillery has been down the road from me for ten years (tastings only, no selling), so you can't say they're rushing it! Interestingly I read somewhere (probably part of their PR blurb) that whisky was quite commonly distilled in England 200 years ago. Perhaps it dried up (hah) when we started getting a taste of Gin from the Netherlands?
20. Very informative thread. Thanks guys. With a P-bass (Mike Dirnt signature) and a Stingray, it looks like I've got most basses covered (excuse the pun). Still hankering after a Warwick Corvette $$, though, to add to the collection!
