Like others have said it’s down to luck of the draw. Some play better than others and even that is just due to personal opinion.
The Stingray is a recipe that’s got its own magic, it’s just been carfully refined over the years for better or worse. Again that’s just down to personal opinion is it better or worse than before ?
Example three bolt neck vs 4 bolt. Then 6 bolt etc

Stainless Steel Elixirs 50-105 on Stingrays & Bongo.
Cobalt flats on the Jazz. also 50-105

First came across Nordstrand about 5/6yrs ago. I needed a replacement pickup for my stingray, saw that they did quite a few ! Ended up going for the BigMan pup, (it’s double thick extreme high output). I was that impressed with it I ended up buying a second one for my other stingray. I think it was Bass Direct who I brought it through.
Definitely impressed with there stuff (J blades, might have to try them soon) and Carey is an approachable guy so it’s all good !

Wow ! That’s a beauty

Nice looking board. I use a Duality and B3K. It took me quite a while to decide what to put first in the chain. I have decided on putting the Duality into the B3K is working best for me

Nice, Iv found it depends how loose you want the sound. I like the b3k gives to the fuzz sound
That’s just the problem. I like them in both orders. Can’t for the life of me decide lol 😂

I would say Duality into B3K, with B3K always on and add the Duality for some utterly over the top filth. I like what the B3K / B7K does as a tone shaper at the end of a chain after other fuzzes.
So the answer is obviously to try both!
I sent Darkglass a message when I registered the pedal (obviously there is no right or wrong way to put them) but it was suggested that it will work at its best early in the chain before any other drives

Definitely B3K into Duality.
I use the B3K on very low gain to set up a thick ‘cleanish’ sound and feed that into the Duality for some utterly over the top filth. Feeding the Duality into the B3K is cool, but it takes away some of rough edges of the Duality, which to me is entire reason that I use the Duality in the first place.
Obviously some people may prefer it the other way round!
That’s the way I have it at present, the B3K takes a lot of The roughness off it the other way around, that might be the desired effect though.
ill know more when can get it wound up properly. They sound pretty good either way though

I’ve got them back in original order now. Figure put it in between the two drives, one either side. Have to wait and see what it sounds like in a full band setting to get the best picture of it

I have the B3K and the Duality.
B3K for me is fine for low gain levels but I don't like the higher gain settings. It has replaced my Aguilar Agro which I used for nearly ten years and loved dearly but fell apart through use at so many gigs. Much as I loved the Agro, while it didn't so much have low end loss, it just doesn't have the girth that the 'grunt' switch on the B3K provides.
Duality is great but only for fuzzed out passages or bass solos where I want the bass to sound like a guitar. It is great for that but not great as an always on fuzz.I am in the process of buying an Alpha Omega which will hopefully cover the middle ground between the duality and the B3K. This will mean that despite not being a Darkglass fanboi that I will own three Darkglass pedals...
Can't say I was that impressed with the X7 demos I have heard. The drive sounds a bit high and fizzy to me, which almost reminds me of my EBS Billy Sheehan drive I have been meaning to sell for the last year or so but can't be bothered to go up in my attic to find...What order do you find works best ? B3 into the Duality or Duality into B3 ?

Awesome pedalboard!
i love having both a b3k and duality. Tried it both ways but prefer the duality after the b3k as I like to put fuzz over an overdrive sound.
Just swapped them over, I found that the Duality was a bit too high gain so the B3 tamed it.
Not got it out of the house yet to use at a decent volume so will end up trying it back again at some point

Is it fair to say you're a fan of DG pedals?! 😄
I'm guessing your favourite dirt is the AO?
Yeah you could say that 😜
the AO is great, always on then kick the B3K in to give it a lift.
Only put the Duality on today so still undecided about the best place for it. Before or After the B3. The two work very well together in either order just very differently

Even if you install something like Reaper, if you have no former knowledge (ie transferable skills) of a DAW, then you'll want to get into the habit of watching tutorials and Googling certain processes.
With regards to setup, I've never had an issue with setting up Pro Tools First, however I am on a Mac.....I've not tried specifically on PC.
I think as I've said before, if you're looking at band type demos, then I would look at Reaper or Cubase LE, because they're the products that will support you moving forward, Reaper is fully featured, and Cubase has upgrade paths. My opinion of Tracktion is that it's fine, but isn't as fully featured as Reaper and you will eventually have to relearn another DAW if you outgrow it. But obviously each to their own.If you should have any further issues setting anything up, please do give the Focusrite tech support team a call/email/live chat. They're there to help you at any part of the process, including software setup, especially helpful if the issue stopping you doing what you need to do is simply a Windows option (more common than you think) as opposed to anything in the box or what you're doing:

Si // Focusrite Media Relations
I think that’s the best move. I’m just watching tutorials every time I see the need to do something and can’t figure it out

PLEASE tell me you installed Windows 10 64 bit, please
I'm recording on a windows 32 bit laptop and it isn't ideal, glitches, and you can only use 4Gb of RAM on 32 bit. But I bought the computer before I had a need to record onto it.
Reaper is a fully featured DAW,with all built in effects, for $60 for a multi-year license, and the BEST forum support of any product ever.
Yes it’s definitely the 64 version

If they do it in some more sensible colour schemes (natural and black always works for me) then it could well be a serious contender.
I’m pretty sure they are built to order so choosing your preferred colour shouldn’t be a problem.
the headstock looks pretty cool too

Kicked my ocd off again now as to ordering them again lol
The Duality definitely has more bite to it after the B3K but don’t think I use them both together in any context. They both land on an AO at the end of the chain so guess it’s all good
