Need to sell this excellent TE1200 to fund my my new amp purchase so regrettably this must go
Very good condition with footswitch and rack ears
Price includes U.K. shipping
Looking for suggestions for clean sounding amps 500w or greater
So the opposite of warm and vintage
I know the Genzler MG800 is clean, so is my TE1200 and EBS Reidmar but looking for other ideas ?
Ok in the past as a user of Shure GLXD16+ I was convinced it t was the best wireless and I’m certain it is however I’ve just got the very neat NUX 5.8ghz set for £130 and I’m pretty impressed so far.
Any gigging folk on here using it and any issues ?
Hi that’s very kind of you
Do you feel a picked played PBass mostly rock etc will suit the ST ?
I need a full deep tone with clarity
Also have you had any concerns about amp head moving off the cab ?
Also I see in your profile pic you use an Orange Terror bass head ??
Do they pair well ?
Im tempted to get one
Yes I decided the ST would be more my thing and I can tweek my EQ but I couldn’t add clarity if the cab was warm and vintage ( 10’s ) so a true clear sounding cab is a better fit.
Now I have to be patient while they build it !!
Ok folks and users of BF cabs
Between the 12’s and the 10’s which has the better clarity of note ?
I’ve ordered a BF310 which I understand is warm and vintage but I’m thinking I should have gone SuperTwin ?
Playing rock mostly and I need clarity and depth and I’m wondering if you ST owners would agree it’s better choice ?
I will be using the TE1200 amp with a PBass fingerstyle and RW strings with a clean tone
For myself and my mostly rock material I play, the warmer 10’s seemed the logical choice compared to the 12’s
I play a PBass with a pick so I don’t need any additional clarity but I need warmth and depth and a smooth tone.
The 310 seems the logical one cab solution to have the power yet sensible on stage size and ease of transport.
Would you say SuperTwin would match better than say 310 cab ?
Regarding compressor I found that you can clearly hear ( especially if using a pick ) the high band subdue the treble frequencies as you increase it clockwise and adds more depth to the high string notes
I keep the low band around 9 o clock
I found you can definitely hear it tame the low and high frequencies if you exaggerate the settings to detect it compressing
In still not sure if pre or post is my preferred so I use Pre mostly and low set around 9pm ( mild ) and high around 2pm to take off any ice pick trebles !!
Still in cab dilemma ( the Vanderkley went back to the seller as it had a loose brace and rattled )
Still thinking about SuperTwin though
Hi all TE1200 users !
Where do you set your dual band compressor ?
I keep mine Pre EQ and I think around 9 o clock low band and 2o clock high band.
Interested to know other folks settings
I have my input gain around noon and EQ approx flat with Pre Shape engaged when playing with a pick ( more depth to tone )
Just for fun what are in your own opinion the top 3 bass amps for gigging and why ?
My top 3 are
Trace Elliot TE1200
very good usable EQ and compressor and loud enough for any rig. Great sounding tone and just seems right for any style.
Ampeg V4B
Loud enough with enough cabs and wonderful all valve sound albeit a heavy lump
Ashdown ABM600
Great EQ and tone, powerful head and a workhorse amp but starting to be a little long in the tooth now with an average to poor compressor and Sub feature that most never use. Best back up service in the business
what about your suggestions ?
