1.
It's not like it's one-sided. Both parties have a right of reply.
Geester was last online 12 minutes before this thread was posted. It's now got 34 posts basically damning him before he's even offered a comment. That's not fair. How many will there before he replies, I wonder?
2. Conclusions are being jumped to without Geester being given the chance to defend himself. This makes me feel uncomfortable. That's more or less the crux of my other posts. OTOH, I'll admit it looks bad.
3. Take a guess
4. I think it's unseemly. I also hate the trial by basschat that goes on. Every **** throwing their 10p in on what they should have done. Revised suggestion: Make it public, but have a single post from the unhappy buyer or seller, have a single post from the unhappy seller or buyer and leave it at that. I had to laugh at the Bass Direct thread last night when Truckstop was whinging on, yet in a thread just over a month ago he detailed how he'd have committed fraud in a previous trade "if only his conscience hadn't got the better of him". Pure jokes.
5. I really think basschat needs a rule like talkbass that we don't disucss deals gone bad (personal or commercial).
6. Peterson Stroborack is great. I love mine.
7. Oh my god, conspiracy.
8. Just think of all the extra stuff you'll be able to hear with all that wax gone :-)
9.
I wasnt attacking begantino. I have no reason to. Yes, very well engineered. Other factors annoy me but it gets too in depth and shows how I research the pricing of the market between brands in the USA, (eg most high end cabs similar prices) and Europe (some cabs stay at a high yet acceptable price, some sky rocket for no apparent reason).
Price doesn't come into it when I buy gear. It's obviously the main factor for you.
10.
+1 to the 'Bits in a box' arguement. The fact is, it is not (too) difficult to make a decent cab! All the info is on the net, and with a few basic tools and a little skill/patience most of us could come up with something better than most of the commercially available cabs. There is no 'magic' involved.
Go on then.
11.
Please be friendly, non-dismissive and considerate to other forum members.
I've always liked the word "dismissive" because you can't use it without being dismissive yourself.
12. http://store.aguilaramp.com/ProductDetails...tCode=700%2D016 ^ more like that. £300+ is a f***ing joke.
13.
I certainly think that anyone who puts forward a strong opinion ought to be able to back it up.
I agree 100%.
14.
Surely that's an example of the extremely helpful iPad/phone spell check?
Yes indeed. Bloody iPad.
15. Stevie is becoming my new favourite poster. Basic trolling done brilliantly and non-argumentatively.
16. I really love my F500.
17. I have full confidence that if one of the neo drivers in one of my Bergantino cabs failed that Bergantino would sort me out.
18. Terence was a price rise on April 1 anyway.
19.
Then Geoff came out and said 'c**t' a lot whilst slagging off every other amp maker. I loved it!
Similar experience
20. You need an aguilar headcase for the DB750 to complete the integrated rig look.
21.
Jim Bergantino is a master craftsman and is in the position where he doesn't have to make compromises. There'll be a lot of manufacturers who will be "knocking something up" but that won't be the Bergantino approach. He'll have been working on ideas for months, as will the whole speaker industry, and you can guarantee that whatever he produces next will be a great cab.
I couldn't agree with you more.
22. Sadowsky -> DB750 -> DB cabs. Wow!
23. Jim Bergantino disagrees with you
24. They were smoking everything else
25. Part of the sonic signature of the HT cabinets was the B&C tweeter. B&C discontinued it. Doesn't seem to unreasonable to me.
