1. Recently aquired Washburn Idol bass, strangely enough in black.
2. Maybe it should be renamed the "March Eyesight Challenge"
3. Well I'm genuinely amazed I won, thank you so much to everyone who felt my tune was worth a vote... it's definitely given me some confidence I've been lacking of late... next time I will try and use a real bass! Everyone's compositions were truly great, I really would have voted for everyone else if it was possible. A special mention must go to Bilbo though for basically coming joint 1st. I will be making multiple copies of my certificate and posting them in various places around town. Cheers, James
4. I boughtBryan's Washburn Idol bass. Great communication, a good deal, and can recommend to all Basschatters. James.
5. Hi Dad, hah no trade secrets, hocus pocus or mumbo jumbo going on...just a fairly straight forward fretless bass sample (with a bit of chorus added) from IK Sampletank 2 played by myself on a fairly cheap Alesis midi controller........it's my favourite bit of the whole thing to be fair as I just let my fingers do their thing in one take... had I owned a real fretless I would have played it all proper like Glad you like it for what it is, I guess it is is a litteral and metaphorical tune really...life would be boring if we all took the same journey Cheers, James.
6. Hello, Thought I would submit a tune for the composition challenge if that's ok ...only had just had over a week to get something done inbetween split shift working days so only a handful of hours really, so possibly not going to be my greatest ever hit as it currently stands! I looked "into" the picture, and just went with where it took me...on a journey as it happens! I have used all virtual instruments... no trains were harmed in the making of this music http://soundcloud.com/chris-j-clarke/journey Cheers James.
7. Vocalist/Lyricist required either in Herefordshire or for *online* collaboration, UK Musician / Composer /Home-Studio Producer based in Herefordshire currently working on my first "proper" album project inspired by the music of: Classic Gothic rock/pop bands Classic Electronic bands and musicians Orchestral / film soundtracks etc. The general themes are melancholy/ reflective/ dark/haunting.....most songs do have strong melodic content. The ideal candidate would have a genuine, fairly versatile voice, be creative lyrically, and obviously having an interest in these general genres of music...I am hoping to have a couple of spoken word pieces also to keep things interesting.A reasonable amount of commitment will be needed to ensure progress to completion, which I am hoping will be within the next 12 months. I have several demo songs/ideas going up at the moment with more being added. These are simply "artist sketches" so the playing, sounds, mixes are not currently first rate....all sounds are virtual instruments. The tracks do however contain the esscence and convey the differing styles and moods, so worth playing at least a little of each one to get an idea of what I am doing..... I hope to have around 10-12 pieces. https://soundcloud.c...t-void-playlist I am leaving the music in "rough demo" form currently, in order to give other musicians a chance to give input on arrangements etc.. If you are interested or know anyone who may be then let me know.... As I don't hold out much hope of finding the right person locally, I am looking more at doing an online collaboration, so the abilty to record or access to recording software would be a requirement I am currently "trying out" a guitarist, but may be looking at taking on another for certain parts of the music. I won't put any more waffle here, the best thing is to message me for any further info. Cheers, James.

11. Rock bass player *Available* 39 years old, down to earth, easy going, ageing rapidly. Plenty of previous live experience, having played venues ranging from performing to one man and his *hearing-dog-for-the-deaf* in small pubs, to audiences of 1000+ Got back more into playing bass the last 18 months or so after a 10 year break.I am a solid player, not flashy by any means, but versatile enough to cover most popular rock styles.(not complicated, weird 345/8756 time signature prog stuff though!) My preffered requirments: Classic/Modern/ Heavy rock covers band (70's-00's) in Hereford/Leominster areas. Age 30s-40s,established or practicing and close to gigging standard. Covers only please , *not* looking for an originals band. Looking to do a good, lively and interesting set of songs, for local pub/club gigs. Happy to play anything from AC/DC to Bad Company/ Free, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden to Pink Floyd,Queen to Black Sabbath, Metallica to Bryan Adams and more up to date stuff too...Anything rock orientated basically! I have own gear and transport, and will give a reasonable / realistic commitment to the right band. Cheers, James.

17. Hi Linus27, If the sale doesn't happen with the other chap, I would be very interested in purchasing this fine instrument from you... I had one in natural a few years ago, and now I actually have something that * slightly* resembles an improved ability to play notes in the right order roughly at the right time, I would like another.... and ..it's black ...therefore better. Cheers, James
