I bought a new Streamer around that time and it didn't come with a gig bag or case.
On a slightly unrelated - I also have owned 2 Warwick Rockbags. Straps have come off on both after a while. They were nice and cheap and seemed good value, but the sound of your bass hitting the pavement as it "breaks" away from your shoulder is pretty sickening. I won't be buying another!
I've had mine since 2003 and it's not failed me yet! Cost me £35 which I didn't think was particularly cheap. -
Shielding protects the electronics from picking up radio noise.
Maplin do adhesive foil tape for your scratch plate, though it could take a while.
Your pickups shouldn't need touching. -

Nah mate, that's a dog. -
Is the T-Rex Squeezer a very large pedal then? :-)
Yeah, they only stock Catalinbread, EHX Nano and Guyatone stuff. Anything larger and the city will slide into the river Dee. -
even chester!
Chester being the Mecca of pedals obviously! Both guitar shops I can think of there have very little pedals in stock. -
Thirded, get a reasonable multi-fx, see which effects you like and consider getting separates after that if you want.
Then spend years trying and selling on all the ones you loved, then fell out with! -
Cheers, will do. I reckon I might need some help on component changes for switching NPN and PNP circuits, adding a blend control and improving bass response.
Got 4 boxes coming, 2 * 1 knob, 2 * 2 knob and a 5 knob. I reckon a couple of fuzz faces, (1 AC127 germ and one BC108 Si), a couple of one knob fuzzes (ie colorsounds) and either a fuzz factory or a wooly mammoth clone, although I'm open to suggestions.
Edit:- here's a list of the transistors I've got so far to play with.
8 * BD139 (possibly useless for fuzz)
4 * gain selected (2 pairs) AC127
20 * BC108
6 * BC109B (might use a couple of these for modding my Crybaby)
2 * gain selected 2N404
6 * AC176 -
I'm building a few pedals next week, I'll try and put a step by step build diary up if it helps anyone thinking of trying a DIY build for the first time.
As for soldering, buy some stripboard, wire, solder and a cheap iron and practice. There's plenty of guides online and it's a useful skill to have. -
or this might be fun to make too

Got a load of boxes coming from Umphs bandmate soon, might have to bagsy one of the 4 control ones for one of those bad boys! -
Looks fairly solid if unspectacular, I'd be worried about the socketed transistors coming loose instead of being soldered in but that's my only worry really. Not enough of an expert to comment on the quality of components or the value. If you're paying top dollar for it, I'd expect it to be better build quality, like DAM pedals.

If it's reasonably priced, go for it. -
I've not clicked on the link but I'm guessing it's the Valnut?
Awesome video! -
Quite possibly. Ask him to bring it down tomorrow!

My soldering isn't great but I reckon I could knock together a fuzz or something similarly easy. Got a jiffy bag full of transistors, including 4 NOS AC127s, going to order the rest of the parts this weekend. I might do a build diary and post it up here, see how it goes.

Let us know how you get on with the build(s)!
A friend of mine makes his own pedals so he's hooking me up with 5 enclosures which he's drilling for me. I'm going to make a bunch of fuzz pedals in my week off on Nov 1st. You want me to ask where he gets them from? -
My friend has/had one. Very tight, thick sound on the guitar, very much like a cranked tube amp. Not tried it on bass.
-
I use the ER20's; much better than Boots foam ones and more confortable over long peiods than the xmas tree type. They only protrude a lot if you leave the cord on. Sound quality is also very good and I've had them for years with no hearing problems.
Eighty Five Pounds!!!!
What's the problem, that's pretty cheap....
I'll get my coat. -
I don't know if you're registered on Finnbass (I think you need to be registered to view posts there) but Brycee has a thread about a dirt cheap built in overdrive circuit (circuit! It's a fiendishly simple 2 diodes) which would fit anywhere without any woodwork and costs pennies.
http://www.finnbass.com/showthread.php?t=1384
Sounds like it just adds clipping diodes to the output stage. I reckon you'd need to drill a hole for a switch to bypass them though? -
Meh. I liked my POD for headphone jams and demos (until it died) but I can't see myself using any Line 6 stuff live, except possibly the DL4 if I ever get my mitts on one.
i officially want one. a few online stores seem to have them in stock?
Electro in Donny is saying they have them in Chris. -
I was supposed to get one from the first batch in the UK thanks to my contact at Korg. However he was off on holiday when they finally arrived, so I missed out. Apparently now they are massively back-ordered so if you haven't actually paid to reserve one it may be a while before you can get hold of one. I'm now waiting to here back from my contacts in Japan to see if it's any more widely available there at the moment.
I was back home at the parentals 2 weekends ago and Dawsons in Chester had at least 1 in stock. Might be worth giving them a call to see if they still have any in.
Edit:- just saw your post saying you had one! They look like they'd be good fun with a looper.... -
I'm rewiring an old bass with 250k pots, Fender schematics recommed a 0.05uf cap.
As to why, I'm not smart enough to know but the above advice all looks solid.
What to do when you find yourself a little 'bored' with Fenders?
I find the Big Al extremely ugly... but I hear good things about them. And... there was a day when I thought the Stingray was hideous
You'll be saying the Bongo is a beautiful bass next.....
