  1. I cannot wait to see some of the short scales that are listed as coming along! Im also bringing some stuff to sell or trade (if that is allowed?) And if anyone has any spare Velcro for pedalboards I’d be happy to bung you a few quid as I need a some. Ditto for a gig bag for a four string bass, 14 inch wide lower bout and 46 inches from tip to top. S’manth x
  2. It will be great to see you again too! Everything I can fit it in Ruby … which is a lot! Three different basses, each with a different signal chain and a different cab. I suspect some is gear folks may not have tried before so it’ll be nice to let them have a go. All but the TC you donated are battery powered. Im also going to bring the parts I’ve got for Phoenix as I am hoping to get some advice about her build and setup. S’manth x
  3. Most of my gear uses things like this 😊 tho in a pinch I can always try this 🤣 It I will bring the sockets and reel I have 😊 S’manth x
  4. I blame my irregular nursing shifts for my body clock being all over the place! (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!) So I’ve an extra day to plan and pack and can arrive a bit earlier. when does it run from/to? S’manth x
  5. Having read this thread, despite the awful puns and the distance I’m decided it sounds too good to miss and so I’m going to come along, so many folks I’m looking forward to meeting and learning from. So … shower and then loading up Ruby (my red mini) … hopefully arrive before noon (when does it run till?). S’manth xxx
  6. Been there with a UBASS, it’s intonation is a mare and it needs retuning every other minute and this with thunder gut strings!
  7. Appears simple enough (Tongue firmly in cheek) S;manth x
  8. Perhaps even more sophisticated! S'manth x
  9. Mod devices built a good system, I hope to build an exceptional system! (Of course I might be deluded, but I do have the requisite skills) S'manth xx
  10. That looks amazing ... thank you for sharing! I'd planned to use a Rock PI SE, partly as it is more powerful than a Pi 4b but mostly because it is available for a not insane price. I am fortunate to have access to a maker-space with CNC and lasercutter so I could achieve something in the same space. But a very generous BCer @Frank Blank has allowed me to obtain his HX Stomp XL on terms I can afford. And so my multi-fx pedal needs are sorted! As such I am putting this project on hold so I can focus on Phoenix, my next bass build. S'manth x
  11. OMG, this is an amazing bit of kit. I've met @stewblackand he is a saint of a fellow! I hope that someone realises this incredible deal and snaps it up ... quickly! S'manth xx
  12. I cannot speak to the J pickup, but pre-fire I installed a P set in my first bass and they were amazing! If I was still a 4 string player I'd fight folks for these! GLWTS S'manth x

  14. Frank is an Angel! I was drooling over an HX Stomp XL he was selling, but I could not afford (A recent fire in my flat wiped out most of my possessions and I am slowly needing to replace them). I'd had a HX Stomp previously, but sold it (pre-fire) as it did not have enough footswitches for my gigging (Giggling!?) style. But the Stomp XL is perfect! In a totally unsolicited way, Frank reached out to me and we have reached an arrangement that works for us both. A true gent! Thank you @Frank Blank S'manth xxx
  15. Thank you @barkin, it seems that I do have it covered thanks to the lovely @leschirons who is fairly close to the origin point and is visiting down South in a location I can easily meet him at! S'manth xxx
  16. I play bass in a ukulele band, currently a Harley Benton 5 string long scale fretless. Whilst the band is happy with the glorious sound I produce (Simply root/thirds/fifths with the occasional walking join) they feel it is ... too big for a uke band! Fortunately, I've now got almost all the bits I need to start building Phoenix, which will be more in keeping with the aesthetic of the group. (Tho I will continue playing the HB as it is rather amazing!) S'manth x
  17. Nods vigorously! I cannot say how wonderful it is to be part of the BC family. Folks her are so amazing, good eggs as my uncle used to say! S'manth xx
  18. It may be wrong of me but I have to bump this. I had an HX Stomp (Sold it pre fire) and it was nearly perfect, just not enough footswitches. This Stomp XL has them and is an awesome price, I'd snap it up if I could afford it ... but I cannot S'manth x
  19. Oh @leschirons, that would be perfect!!!! I'm not on duty on the 28th so I can drive travel up to meet you in or near E. Grinstead (Whichever you prefer) S'manth xxx
  20. Thank you Lozz, so very kind! Cobham services was my "almost home" point when I lived in Walton on Thames for many years! I'm attending the Bass Bash in Addlestone on Oct 23rd, so if we can get the bass to you before then ... and we could meet that morning, it would be amazing! Journey so far (Green sorted) S'manth xx
  21. I was gifted a fretted bass following my loss of nearly everything in a fire in August. I've been converted to fretless playing. I'd appreciate you experience/thoughts on how to best de-fret a bass. S'manth xx
  22. Dear BCers. There is a bass in North Norfolk ... that needs to end up in Brighton. It's a jumbo acoustic instrument so courier costs are ... well ... a bit insane! I wonder if any kind folks might be able to assist, I would be so very grateful! A relay from point to point to point would work. I'm Brighton based but can drive up to M25 area, but Norfolk is out of range for my wee mini. S'manth xx

I guess I’d better crack on with the detailed design now! 🥳 S’manth x
