1. Fantastic cabinet. I'm an EA player though and this adds a little too much of its own tone for my taste. Barely gigged, second owner (previous owner barely gigged either) in great condition. Blurb: The Traveler 121H is fantastic for bass players who need a smaller, warm sounding rig. This cab, which won the 2007 "Best Bass Cabinet" MIPA award, is the number one choice for acoustic bass players. IMPEDANCE: 8 ohms SPEAKER SIZE 1x12 in. BASS PORT rear TWEETER 1" compression driver with custom horn POWER HANDLING 400W RMS (AES Standard) CROSSOVER FREQUENCY 3.5 kHz FREQUENCY RESPONSE 40 Hz to 20 kHz SENSITIVITY 99 dB SPL WEIGHT 34.61 lbs / 15.7 kg HEIGHT 15.35 in. / 39 cm WIDTH 23.39 in. / 59.4 cm DEPTH 17.05 in. / 43.3 cm thanks!
2. Thanks all, I appreciate the advice (and wry wisdom Bill!)
3. Excellent, thanks very much for clarifying this guys. I am buying a 4 ohm cab, as it's lovely, great price and a good size for small to medium gigs, but as it's only a 1x12 there may be times when I'd prefer to add a second cab, but my amp doesn't go down to 2 ohms.
4. I read this on a hifi forum, but I'm concerned that this might be wrong, and wouldn't want to damage the driver: two resistances in series gave a combined resisitance that was their sum. I don't think this has changed. Connect a 4 Ohm resistor anywhere between one speaker terminal and the corresponding terminal on the amp, and you add 4 Ohms to what the amp sees. The amp doesn't know, or care, whether the load is a speaker or a lump of wood.
5. Hi all, Can anyone tell me, is it possible to convert a 1x12 4 ohm cab to 8 ohms? Hoping to do it if it's feasible / not expensive! Thanks

14. Yikes, can't tell you how tempting that is (that's pretty close to my dream jazz) but it's got to be cash to fund a purchase I'm afraid. Thanks for the offer though!

17. Hi Andy, I've strung a 5 string fretless E to C once. My experience was that the strings you use are vitally important (I used Thomastik Infeld groundwounds), and a shorter scale length will allow you a thicker gauge, which might help eliminate the thin sound. I also found I had to adjust my right hand techniques to deal with the thinner gauge, so perhaps you'll find your tone improves with experience too. I love the look of your Stambaugh - I've got a custom 5 string singlecut on order at the moment! Best of luck, Sam
18. up!

22. The guys at the Gallery dressed the Devon's neck really nicely. Not sure how they measure up price wise, but the quality's great.
23. There's a dark coloured veneer between the redwood and the bodywood, which is the rare (sustainable) and lovely Port Orford Cedar - http://en.wikipedia....aris_lawsoniana Very robust, warm and strong sound. This is Chris' dream tonewood that matched my specs - I wanted something versatile with added warmth. We discussed koa and mahogany, but as both woods can be inconsistent (although I've only had good experiences with koa), and I wanted something lightweight, this wood was a perfect choice. You're right, there are two outputs, I'm having the Ghost piezo system fitted, and thought I'd make the bass midi capable. Yup, redwood dot markers! A little extra expense, but worth it to tie the bass together. We had been keeping some redwood back for the pickup covers, but might now have them made of the same maple as the neck. thanks for your questions! Here's the other pics Chris sent me:
