2. My Warwick six stringer weighs in at 9.9lbs. Doesn't bother me as I only notice that my shoulder is numb after the gig!
  3. Get yourself a Spector...beautifully balanced bit of kit.
  4. Mate, I get the same problem...my pinky sticks out like a posh lady drinking tea! I've tried to correct it but have come to the conclusion that it's just the way my hands are. You just gotta go with what you've got.

This is fantastic...stuck her up in cool edit pro looped it and didn't stop grooving for an hour. great for practicing scales over too!!
  6. I could use the RAM if it's still going? maybe just the one stick to give someone else a chance with the other.
  7.
Did you used to post on the Mike Dolbear drum forum by any chance? You have a strangely familar name!
No mate, probably another Zappa fan with fantastic taste in screen names!!
  8.
Ow Bis me babber? The Brizzle chapter is growing again.....
Alright babs!

I feel I should welcome you too Chris (even though it's kinda my fault that the For Sale section is gonna bankrupt you).
Alreety mate! it's all your fault!! everything!!!! Good luck tonight kid.
  10.
The Police Cover-Up is the tribute band - Daniel used to play sax and piano in it when we started it up... http://www.myspace.com/thepolicecoverup Have also just done some live recordings of hard rock/classic/metal covers with another band called Oblivion (ignore the similar myspace design - I've only just made it, so borrowed the code from the other one)... http://www.myspace.com/oblivionrockuk Matt is just annoyingly good at everything, isn't he?! ...how did the Lenny Savage gig go?
Ah you got Migs on drums! he's sh*t-hot mate!! The vocals are cracking!! top band! Yeah Matt is the most annoying man on the planet! The Lenny Savage gig went well considering I only had one rehearsal...it's so much harder with original material. Migs 'babysat' me, bless him and I had Dan telegraphing the chord changes...they're both top blokes and great musicians.

  12.
Welcome to the Brizzle hizzle shizzle club. Would love to try out that Spector of yours
You're more than welcome to mate.
  13.
Hi Chris, Glad to see another musician on here hailing from the Bristol area. I used to do a few bands with your predecessor Bill B on bass. I was also meant to be doing the 999 Charity gig this weekend with my Police tribute band which Matt V was also going to be doing with Doctor Chocolate, but he's just told me it's been cancelled... Lete me guess - Alex is playing guitar in the jazz/funk project? James
Hi James, Nice to meet someone with a connection! Bill B is a cracking bass player and is a tough act to follow! And it's not easy being in a band with a drummer who's also a great bassist but Matt is one of the nicest blokes I know and is always ready to help out and give me pointers and advice. Shame about the cancellation...I'd like to see your Police band, what are you called? I'll check you out. I wish Alex was playing guitar in the J/Unk project. We've got a great guy though, an up and coming kid called Joe Wilkins. He's essentially a blues guy but it fits right in with the funk!
  14.
welcome to the Bristol BC chapter! Matt
Cheers Matt... Bristol BC chapter? is that like being in the Hells Angels only we're allowed to change our jeans?
  15.
There's a few of us here in brisssle, or therrrbouts...welcome along. Has anyone warned you about the For Sale section yet? One day we'll actually organise a B'tol get together! BB
No I've not been warned of the For Sale section, does this warning come in the form of 'beware duff gear' or 'beware bankruptcy'? A Bristol get together sounds like a plan. It'll just be a big sweaty ball of bass bores, roaming the land causing perturbation and despair! Just my kind of thing!!
  16. Cheers me babbers. That P-bass in your profile pic looks delicious!
  17. Oooh, there's a theory and techniques section? just typing those two words is making my eyes glaze over. Thanks for the welcome Yorick.
  18. Hi peoples, I'm Chris, I joined yesterday and I'm glad I've found a place where I can talk about bass without peoples eyes glazing over! I'm currently playing a Spector Euro 4 thru-neck and a Warwick Corvette Proline six stringer which I chuck through either a Hartke 3500/Ampeg SVT Classic 1x15 or a Trace GP7 (pre Gibson) and Trace 1x15. I started playing drums in a rock band at the tender age of 15 (although I was always a 'closet' bassist!) but by the time I reached 20 years old decided it was way too much kit to carry around so gave it all up. After 10 years in the wilderness I decided to get myself some bass gear and I haven't looked back. I'm currently playing in a soul/motown outfit and a big tight 12 piece Beyonce tribute band (www.sugamama.co.uk). I'm also about to embark upon a funk/jazz project with some of Bristols finest. Anyways, hello! Cheers Chris.
  19. I've got a Trace 300w 8ohm cab. In immaculate condition. Straight swap?
  20. I might be interested in a straight swap with my Trace gp7 300w head. It's old Trace (pre gibson) rather than the new crap. It depends on what condition the Hartke is in?
  21. Ampeg SVT Classic 1x15 cab for sale. Just recently fitted with brand spankers Eminence Kappa Pro. The box is a bit tatty coz it's been well gigged. £150. Would consider a straight swap for a 2x10 cab.
