Absolutely immaculate - no dings or scratches whatsover, only gigged a couple of times in full working order, with footswitch. Amazing amp - I just need to free up some capital and I really don't need 900 watts. Open to trades for something putting out about 600watts at 4 ohms, IDEALLY a Shuttle 6.2, with money my way. Ashdown vs Genz 410 to pair with Genz Shuttlemax 9.2
TheDaivisch replied to TheDaivisch's topic in Amps and Cabs
As I am an aggressive rock fingerstyle player in a bass heavy band where I need to cut through, I need some decent mids. How about a second hand Markbass STD 104HR? Any experience of the relative tone of these? -
Ashdown vs Genz 410 to pair with Genz Shuttlemax 9.2
TheDaivisch replied to TheDaivisch's topic in Amps and Cabs
An ashdown cab will just choke your shuttlemax imo, the neo2x12 is basically just a pa cab so I can't see how it would be smooth or dark, it can do smooth and it can do dark, but if you put a gritty ampeg simulator through it then it would do that too. You get out what you put in imo, ask someone with a streamliner 900 if they find a lack of grit for example
Isn't sound a little bit objective? The 212 had lots of clarity and a a very full range, just to my ears, at least with my bass/setup, it sounded like there was a slight scoop in the upper mids which I don't find with my Vanderkley. What makes you say that the Ashdown will choke the Genz? Frequency response? Experience? Dave -
Ashdown 410H 600w Bass Cab + 115 300w Cab

To cut a long story short, I'm selling 2x Vanderkley 112MNT cabs to free up some money for a honeymoon and I want to replace them both with 1x reasonably priced 410 cab and pair it with my Genz Shuttlemax 9.2 (900 watts @4ohms/500 watts @8ohms). The two that I have my eye on are: http://ashdownmusic.com/products/1/Bass-Amplification/2/ABM/23/ABM-410H-Cabinet-/ and http://www.gak.co.uk/en/genz-benz-fcs-410t/71124 I like Genz speakers but have found some of their cabs a little too smooth or dark in certain frequencies (having owned a Neo 212), so I'm kind of leaning towards the Ashdown. I've played a 210 Ashdown combo at a practice studio and was pleasantly surprised (having always looked down on Ashdown a little as a budget brand). What are your thoughts? Dave

Aria STB Relic'd olympic white jazz with upgrades

***********SOLD************* Very cool looking relic'd Aria STB jazz bass, with upgraded bone nut, full copper foil electronic cavity shielding to reduce noise, relic'd paint and hardware and battery compartment already fitted, with battery clip should you want to upgrade to active. Far more character than a stock bass. Very growly Jazz bass tone, fantastic pickups for the price, lovely P-bass profile neck, no neck issues whatoever. Plays like a dream. Feel free to come try it out. It looks more authentically relic'd in person - the photos give it a sort of clean sheen! Note that the first 2 pics were taken when I took the tone pot off to clean it. It is now back on the bass (see other pics). This is a complete fully functioning bass!

I did have 2 for sale, now down to 1 - £510 (NOT £1000 for 1 obviously!) 1 immaculate Vanderkley 112MNT cab FS, only gigged twice. The best sounding cabs I have ever owned/heard. Amazing clarity, range and the clearest fullest midrange. Light neo design. I'm only selling as it's simply not getting used and I need to pay for a honeymoon. They will be sorely missed, but my new wife is (slightly) more important Can ship, but postage costs extra. I'm looking for a decent cheap backup jazz bass and came across this: http://www.gumtree.c...8#photo-content Squier body, Fender neck. Great. However I can't help but think there's something off about the positioning of the bridge. At first I thought it had 70s pickup spacing, but soon realised it appears that the bridge is in a strange position, forward of where it should be. What do you lot think? The bass in question is in the middle of the pic.
