Not much difference between these two, other than colour and scratchplate type the main difference is that the black bass has a Himass bridge and the white one doesn't.  I've added a thumb block to the white one and if I enjoy it will do the same to the black.  They're just bog standard Player basses and I love them.  Simple, effective and they play and sound great.  The black one is for standard tuning and the white one for full D / weird tunings (one of the guys in the band keeps talking about Soundgarden covers and I'm hoping the bass can cope with the demented tunings required).

    Nice 👌

Lovely! Does the black one have a smaller body, or is it a shorter scale or something?

Exactly the same size, just a optical illusion I think 🤷

Gonna guess that the 2 pedals next to the Heaby are Chinese DG clones @danbowskill. An X and an AO? How you finding them?

    😂..yarp,it's the AO and B3k.

Surprisingly good quality and sound.silent switching, the AO sounds exactly the same...the 3k has a lot darker drive than the original

I change my mind so much with drives these will do just fine for the mo.

  4. I like to use dirt and distortions, so I use a gritty pre amp pedal (Dark glass ,sansamp) as an always on drive with great Eq options which a lot of great heads don't do alone.and sometimes the mix of the head and pedal yeild excellent results.

My Pro3 on its own is ok...but with a bit of blended bassdriver it just comes alive.

I gigged the Ampeg SVT610 HLF and SVT CL for some time and it’s a perfect match

    Great rig

Me too (although the heads long gone), I much preferred the sound over the 8x10 plus was easier to get around

  6. I had my great condition pro 3 on my bench adjusting the MOSFETs, I gave it a micrometer of a turn and they were reading pretty spot on...where I left the amp running half HR or so with no problems.before I put the lid back on I thought I'd give it another quick check, when I touched the mosfet leg with the multimeter clip (as shown in picture) it made a crack and quick spark.not sure what the damage is...could be a simple fix or could be a big fix 🤷.doesn't appear to be any scorching or damage anywhere else.i did switch it on quickly afterwards where it cut out after a min or so (protection mode).collection or

Can meet within reason.Happy for someone to Arrange their own courier.

Fingers crossed for you. Hope you get it back. If they refund you, is it worth asking if they’d sell it to you as spares or repair? A decent amp tech may be able to sort it for a reasonable cost

I'm thinking that👍iTS a itch that definitely needs scratching now

I had a Tubepath 5.1, I bought it brand new. Wonderful sounding amp, I used it with a Warwick WCA115 and WCA210. Had a lovely rich tone to it, and was pretty versatile. I only got rid of it as I had my head turned by the whole class d thing so I traded it for something a lot smaller. Without a shadow of doubt, the stupidest musical decision I’ve ever made. Followed closely by trading my MM Bongo Stealth. From what I remember, early 10.1 versions had some reliability issues, but that’s only from what I read on forums, not personal experience. Enjoy the amp, they are for sure a bit of a hidden gem

I hope it comes back to me...can't help but have the niggling feeling that Andertons are just going to refund me rather than repair (they did say it'll come back for repair).

Thats almost exactly what happened to mine. All the internal fuse holders were completely broken. In the end, literally just to test it, I actually soldered the fuses to the remains of the holder.  Love to hear how you compare this to the SVT 3pro when you get it running

Yeah when I looked under the hood them holders looked rubbish,as if they were made from KitKat wrappers.

At low levels it felt a lot clearer than the pro3...but means nothing until I hear in a band mix

The fuse's had all come out and 2 holders were broke, rack ear bent round and top Damaged... surprisingly the inners weren't to bad ,and the face. Managed to patch it up just to test (it works thank god).... And the sound was absolutely wonderful 😁.

I won't get to try it properly until it's back from repairs.

But in that short tryout I was mighty impressed
