Those pole pieces! Oh , hang on, just zoomed in, there are screws in there!ย ๐

@Brian45 bought a pedal from me, great comms, swift payment.
Top Basschatter, recommended ๐๐ผ

Something about these beauties that gets me every time I see one ๐๐ผ
ย
Takes me back to the 70's when every weekend me and my mates would visit our local music store Whites.
ย
I recall one of these was the most exotic - and most expensive - basses I'd ever seen hanging on the wall in there.
ย
And I was always met with a blunt 'no' when asked if I could play one... ๐
ย
Obviously they knew I neither had the skill, nor the funds to be worthy ๐๐๐

Is that a discount for having nice legs?ย
The 80's really were a different time...
Hers yes, deffo not mine ๐
By the time she bought that she'd got to know John the manager as I was always dragging her in there most weekends. He actually got three in and picked the best figured wood one for me ๐๐ผ
Yup, that was a healthy discount, and he went onwards and upwards creating a huge musical business up here ๐๐ผ
ย
He supplied us with a (then) state of the art PA, came out for several weekends to sort it, and announced he'd set up a 'website'..
ย
None of us knew what he was on about ๐
ย
The rest, as they say.. ๐

Here's my Westone Superheadless, bought by my wife as a surprise Christmas present back in 1985.
It was very well used three and sometimes four nights a week around the social club circuit both here in the Northeast and well beyond, and although the original hard case is testament to those gigs, the bass has held up well. Like putting on an old pair of trainers, as someone once saidย ๐

Apologies for all the photos, but I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I think there's just enough 'new' to give the bass a whole new personality without sacrificing any of its vibe. Not only does it look good, but after a set up it's an absolute beast. My only gripe is the new pickguard has about a 1mm gap where it should meet the neck on the upper horn side - I'm not sure how this happened but I won't dwell on it. It is apparent in the 2nd pic.
ย
New parts were: tuners, nut, output jack, pickguard and screws, knobs, strap buttons, and bridge screws.ย
That.
ย
Is simpleh loveleh ๐๐ผ

Unused by me, as I bagged a brand new Tech 21 Bass flyrig at the same time and put this behind the settee along with a chorus pedal I'm putting up on here.
Bought from @Skinnerย on here, its in good condition and I need to move it on as its never been/going to get used by me as I use the comp on the Flyrig.
ย
Comes in original box with paperwork, uses an 18v power supply which is included, DI out, boost pedal, pics are self explanatory.
ย
Price includes UK post and packaging.

I can't imagine how it must feel - when it's all done, and looks so amazing - to come into a room the very next day, with that bass (or any of the other builds Andy has done in fact) in the corner of the room glinting at you, and knowing...
ย
ย
...I did that ๐คฉ

The BlazerRay... Now finished!

Quick update ๐
ย
Three years to the day I completed this bass ๐ฒ I'm pleased to say it'll actually be getting a chance to be played in front of an audience at some point during this coming year - Putin permitting ๐คฌ- instead of being picked up and played in the living room ๐๐
ย
Since retiring two years back, I've persuaded three old bandmates to have one last hoorah, resurrecting a band the four of us were once in.
We played our final gig on March 1st 2000, 22 years ago. ๐
ย
Looking forward to finally gigging the BlazerRay after completing it 3 years back, I'm also pleased to say its still in one piece and hasn't split..
