1. I was passing yamaha store London the other day, thought i'd see what was in. I tried the bb P34. I went in for the B734a - they didn't have any in that day so I can't comment on how hey compare. The p34 had a good feel and sounded great. It probably needed a set up though. I was surprised that I missed the curved thumb rest in the the top of the P-pickup that's on the previous BB. A really minor change but I've just gotten so used to it on my 1024x. So for comparison I went and tried a BB2024x......I love the look of the 2024x versus the new ones (although the black 734a is ??), it was obviously familiar in feel as I have a 1024x. But it was just great, and the quality was amazing. It's a classic and I just thought I'd be sad if I never owned one.....cue moment of madness. It arrives Tuesday ?
2. Dawson's seem to have stock of the RBX A2 And here is Prince giving one a go: https://youtu.be/7ZBEfPhC2bc
3. Also I notice some japanese sites have prices (yen obviously), for the pro P34 (~£1400 ish) and the bb734/5s (£680 ish) ....gives an idea of what to expect although they'll probably be a bit more than that here in UK when they finally arrive http://store.ishibashi.co.jp/ec/pro/disp/1/80-321699700 http://item.rakuten.co.jp/ishibashi-shops/80-321699200/
4.
If it were my dosh I'd get a Yamaha BB1024 or 1025 depending how many strings you want. I'm a bit in love with Yamaha BBs at the moment.
This ⬆️
5. Sunday night bump, try-outs welcome (I'm in Salford)
6. It's on Wardour Street in Soho (guitars and basses are downstairs)
7. In two minds about this, I have a matching bb1024x which is getting played more because of the band I'm in so it's difficult to justify keeping it. It plays great, very resonant and with a lovely low B. I probably don't need to expand on how great these are, just check out some threads on here to find out. I chose this over some very expensive competition. I've owned it approximately 12 months with very little usage, very good condition. Just one tiny ding near the jack socket which was I only saw when I got it home from the store (it was new, from Yamaha Music London). I live in Manchester so never bothered to go back to them. Prefer pick only but will consider other suggestions. If I don't sell I won't be terribly upset! 8. Miss mine! I sold it in haste, shame I'm not in a position to buy now :-( the build quality of these is outstanding
9. BUMP and a price drop to £1800, with partial trades considered. Try outs welcome!
10. Trades considered (of the bass guitar variety) in part exchange, with cash my way.
11. PRICE DROP to £1900, plus I'll throw in a Hercules stand, a good quality gig bag, and a bow
