1. And same to you Dave.
Bought a Hartke cab from Pete , great item and superb price.

Really nice guy to deal with !

    Cheers , Dave.
2. Thanks Keith, it was a pleasure doing business with you.
Good to meet you today Pete.

Look after and enjoy the rig!
3.
I'd be interested but I could only stretch to £120 at the moment.

I live in Manchester so I could pick up not a problem.

    Let me know man, cheers
Are you sure you can't stretch anymore? the cab is worth that on it's own, but with the cover and cable it's worth at least £140?

    Thanks

    Pete

  4.
Would you be interested in a trade for a Fender Rumble 100 combo at all?

    http://www.dv247.com/guitars/fender-rumble...mp-combo--41611
Thanks Wooks79 but it's a little bigger than I need at the moment.

  5.
Ah, my old cab!

Also worth a mention that it's the old USA made one, IMO much better made than the more recent Chinese ones. These were expensive cabs when new!
Cover is also excellent quality and would set you back £35+ if bought seperately so a lot of cab for the money. Looks like it's in the exact same condition as when i sold it too!
Thanks Steve, It is in the same condition. I've lways kept the cover on when transporting it and never remove the cover at home. Cheers for the reminder about it being USA made - Somebody should call Larry to see what he thinks :) I need this to go soon as I may have Yorks5stringer's PA off him on sunday and the wife won't be too pleased if I'm taking up even more of the 'box room' (read studio).

  6. Hi All

I've got my trusty old Ashdown Mag C115 250W combo that's looking for a good home. I've owned this from new since around 2003 and I've regularly used it for rehearsals and small to medium sized gigs where taking a 4x10 was overkill. it's the eealier model that's made in the U.K if that makes any difference?

As I've said it's been used regularly so it has a few dents on the grill, the rubber on the handle has split and it looks it's age. But it works perfectly and is gret as a practice amp or for smaller gigs. It would make an excellent amp for somebody starting out - it did me :)

How about £120 now gone. Trades wise I'd be interested in a smaller practice combo with cd in and headphone out. or WHYG just try me I can only say no :)

    Here are the pics:

  7. Hey All

I have a Hartke 410 XL that is surplus to requirements now I've got a Barefaced Compact. It comes with a really heavy duty padded cover and I'll chuck in a jack to jack speaker cable if you want it as well. It's a real workhorse and has lasted me well. I bought it off lemmywinks on here a couple of years ago, it was in excellent nick then and it is now. I'll be sad to see it go as I really like the sound of this. But I'm not going to use it now so it may as well go to somebody who is.

Price dropped to £140 AND SOLD That includes the cover and speaker cable or I can deliver within a reasonable distance of Manchester. Not sure about a courier as it's fairly heavy and I don't have a box.

Trades wise I'm interested in a small practice combo with cd in and headphone out, or squire VMs or WHYG? Try me I can only say no :)

    Here are the specs:
    - Dual-Chamber, Dual-Ported Cabinet
    - Four Hartke XL 10 inch Aluminum-Cone Bass Drivers
    - Power Handling: 400 Watts @ 8 Ohms
    - Frequency Response: 30 Hz To 5 kHz
    - Sensitivity: 98 dB @ 1 W/1 M
    - Voice Coil: 1.5 inch
    - Magnet Weight: 60 Oz.
    - Parallel 1/4 inch Inputs
    - Dimensions: 24(H) X 24(W) X 15(D) inches
    - Weight: 88 lb.

  8. I don't remember how long it took. But I used to play scales from the lowest note possible to the highest not possible and say the names of the notes as I did this. I soon learnt where most of the notes were. And if there was a grey area I just concentrated on scales around that position.

    I hope this helps!

  9.
I think the only 2 bits that i don't like/would personally change.

The order of the band members, I'd always put the singers first on it. Seems to make more sense than your current layout.

The other is the black & white pictures on the home page. They all look like its YOUR band and everyone else are your band. If it were me, i'd make full use of the twins? and put them as the centre of the attention, as appose to a guy holding a bass. But thats just me :)

    The sites great though.
Thanks for your comments J.R Bass. It does look a bit like it's my band doesn't it? The funny thing is I didn't select the photos we used or choose the order of the musicians on the band page. The singers did that, maybe that says something about my leadership skills :)

  10.
Its great. I really like it in fact its given me some ideas so thanks. Just tell me you were balancing that bass on something soft.
Thanks BottomE No unfortunately the bass was just resting on the floor. I must have gotten caried away with 'glamour' fo the photoshoot.

  11. Thanks for the comments guys (especially Burrito bass' comment about my beard, maybe I should start a whole new topic about my facial hair or even bass plaers with facial hair?) :) . I hadn't thought about the fact that clients might not want others to know how much they've spent on their wedding, and I suppose people having to contact us about costs is a good way to guage if people are looking at our website.

  12.
Sorry, got to the pic of the two birds and lost all interest in the band.............

    Will try again.
Ha they are very talented :) I was expecting a couple of replies about them. unfortunately one of them is angaged and the other likes drummers!

  13. Hi Guys

I'm pretty excited today as my band Supersession have just launched our new website. We're a wedding/function band and we're just getting started so any hints or tips from some of you 'old' pros would be greatly appreciated. the url is http://supersession.co.uk/. We've spent a lot of time and effort getting to this stage.

We have a Twitter feed at the bottom of each page and I was thinking of putting something like 'special offer £*** flat rate for any function within Greater Mancchester' but I'm not sure if putting prices up is a good idea? will it scare potential clients away? People always seemed to be shocked when they find out how much a band costs. But I know when I was getting married I found it refreshing to be able to see a price up front on a website without having to email for a quote etc.

    Thanks Guys

    Pete
