1. Had an M13 I used with my double bass in a electronic jazz project but didn't have time or the inclination to get to grips with it. It's the same now would love one but don't have the time to learn to use it properly

  2. Hi Pete/Rumple

I'd be very interested to hear from you about this Compressor as you can see I do a pretty energetic show and need to have something to counter act the odd extra dig in that happens sometimes in the heat fo battle so to speak without squashing tmy signal to much.

    Cheers

  3. Hi Guys

Had a new bridhe fitted to my bass and decided to not have any pickups installed for now. So up for sale is my Bass Balseriet pickup the pickup is conical shaped which is drilled in to the bridge on the bass side http://www.bassbalsereit.de/ and has an XLR with a pre-amp inside which you attach to the tail piece which is phantom powered. If you use an Acoustic Image the phantom power switch on it works great, if not Samson make a really good one.

The pickup is mega and can be tuned by turning it when installed as I'm not gigging at all on upright I don't need it.

    They are 439.00 Euro's new so I'm asking £ 200.00 ono.

    Many thanks

    Laurence

  4. So I had a chat with my luthier last night and he thinks the reason my legs wrapped (other than the adjusters and BassBalseriet pickup) was due to the Belgian style Despiau bridge on the bass which has much longer legs and less mass he also said the bridge wasn't aged which was another factor. He's putting on a very nice Aubert Deluxe old selected Maple bridge, the bridge has much shorter less and more mass and because it's been aged for up to 30 years will be much stable and vastly improve the sound, we decided not to put installed the BassBalseriet pickup so that's going to be available if anyone is interested.

Both Clarky ans Keith have kindly offer to lend me pickups once I get the bass back so I will see what works best.

Interstingly I was old told that the Correlli Tungsten strings sound pretty darn good last night low tension and big sound and they bow really well has anyone tried them?

    Cheers

  5. Very interesting Roger the bass player with Tord Gustavsen band uses an Underwood and sounds incredible probably because he is incredible as is Dave Holland I think I'm going to go down that root for now.

I just need something that works and doesn't distract from just playing which is the most important thing for me. I read that the Fishman Dual Parametric DI is the best product Fishman ever made and now discontinued is a fantastic pre-amp you can get them second.
