1.
Anychance of a 6 string Elite/Deluxe or Artist by Batch 20? :)

Heard nothing but good about these, not played one my self though!
Again, we are talking about a six string - maybe before production 20, but probably not for a while yet; and as we don't use off the shelf parts, we'd have to invest in tooling for hardware and p/up covers too, which is quite an outlay for a lower volume instrument - but we will get there eventually!

  2.
Hi Chris,

Do you have any plans or even thoughts regarding an "Original" (aka "C" bass) shaped model, a la Craig Adams?

    Always been my dream bass.

    Cheers
We do still build Original series basses and even C Basses, to order from time to time (we get both of Craig's back for service every now and again)..

Two have gone over to the US recently - both to LA; one was an almost exact copy of the original C bass built for John Entwistle (now owned by Peter Hook), built for a bass playing West Coast music photographer called Elde Stewart and the other a fretless went to studio musician Peter Freeman (whos credits include Alanis Morissette and Nile Rodgers among others)..

We are talking about introducing a 'Tanglewater' version - but probably not until at least next year..

But give me a call, if you're interested in one...

  3. Hi Guys

I'm looking for a quality DI to replace my Epifani UL502 and UL310, the function wedding band I play has a 6K RCF rig with digital desk and in-ear monitor system, my bass sounds amazing through my in-ears so much so I don't need a bass rig on stage hence I need a decent DI back looking at spending £ 300ish.

    Cheers

  6. Hi Gareth

It's actually my Realist into the Ten2 then DI'd to the FOH. I had my DPA4099B on my bass but the sound engineer said he didn't have time to EQ a mic as it was pretty quick turn around.

While we are talking about live sounds what's the APT-FlexElectre like is better than the Realist.

    Cheers

    Hi Bilbo

Sorry I'm going bald and need to stop the gleam off my head.

The band is called the Claude Werner Quartet and were lucky enough to get an album deal at The Gateshead Jazz Festival which we'll be recording the next 6 weeks or so. The band personel are as follows:

Claude Werner Tenor Sax, Composer, Arranger, Jazz Educator and Author www.claudewerner.com he's from Chile but lived in Boston USA through his teens studied in NYC and moved here from Barcelona
John Hirst Drummer, John did 4 years at Berklee and won the Steve Gadd award before winning drummer of tomorrow in 2007/08
Lloyd Wright studied at Newcastle College and has created a very individual voice on guitar, he did some workshops with Mike Stern a couple of weeks ago
Laurence Blackadder Double Bass, studied with lots of great teachers including Zoltan Dekany, Phil Palombi, Mark Hodgson, Phil Donkin, Ian Crawford, Alan Collins and Claude Werner.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

  8. Just wanted to let every one know about the above festival it's ran by Nick Weldon in Rushden Northamptonshire and is well worth attending if you have the time for details check www.jazzschool.co.uk I'm going to try and get there myself but I have gigs on Friday and 2 on Saturday up in Cumbria so it might be a bit difficult. There'll be some excellent players and teachers on hand.

  12. Interesting, I actually have an Evah Pirazzi E and A on at the moment and they sound fine but just wanted to try a couple of Weiches to see how they feel, both Charles Haden and Larry Greandier use really old Spiro's on the bottom it's more curiosity than anything else.

I have had lengthy correspondence with Gerold Genssler a custom gut string maker from Berlin and really want to try his WRAPS but at 500 euros a go I really want to try them first, he's a great string maker and guarantee's the strings for 2 years.
Just Curious Lawrence. I have recently put on an Olive G and D with my old Mittles. The Mittles are a little underpowered by comparison on my bass. I would have thought the Weichs would be a little wimpy.
    Those Olives are great though.
